My 7 lb Yorkie finished a whole tube of Nutrical! She got a hold of tube of nutrical while I was doing some clean up. She managed to tear off the plastic with her teeth and almost the whole tube is gone! Is there such thing as a Nutrical overdose? She seems fine but I am wondering if there are any symptoms I should watch out for or should I rush her to Emergency? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks =) |

Hi have you called the Emergency vet and just ask them? you might want to put this in the Sick & Injured / Emergencies Talk so more people will see it. |
also heres the link that gives you the numbers to Pet Poisoning & Dangerous Foods - Poison Control Hotline http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...l-hotline.html |
There are vitamins in it, so I would call the vet. You may need to give protein also (talk to vet first) because with such a sugar high, her sugar could then go down too far and she may need something to balance it out. |
when you dog eats the wrong thing... When your dog eats the wrong thing this is what you need to do 1st. It could safe their life. Hydrogen Peroxide 3% (the same thing we use on cuts) give 1 teaspoon per 10 pounds (you can repeat every 15 min but only 3 times) this will Induce vomiting. They will start vomiting when in mins of giving them the peroxide so be ready. Then you can give Charcoal . You can get Charcoal tablets at any durg store. Any one with pets :animal36 needs to keep this on hand. It will safe your pets life. Julie |
This link is for nutrical and it states plainly that if overdose, contact your vet or ER Nutri-Cal - 1800PetMeds Nutri Cal is great when used right but can be a big problem if given too much or an accidental overdose like this. Let us know how your Yorkie is doing. Keeping fingers crossed and saying prayers for you and your Yorkie. |
Hi everyone, Thanks for all your responses. I took her to the vet last night and had her checked out. He didn't see anything wrong but told me to monitor her behaviour for low or high energy, vomitting or diarrhea. She was fine all night and seems normal today. Thank goodness!!! Thanks again =) |
