Bubble Play This past weekend I went into Target to get puppy pads for Schatzie. Anyway, in the pet section they had "blowing bubbles" for dogs. Even though I laughed I purchased two bottles. (oh the things we wont do for our Yorkies). One bottle is peanut butter scented and the other bar-b-q. Well, come to find out I get the bubbles home to begin playing with Schatzie and there is no wand in the bottles? Hmmm, I always remember as a kid having a little plastic wand inside... Have any of you seen these or bought the bubbles and did your's have wands inside or did I buy some reject bottles maybe. If your's did come with wands did your Yorkie (s) like to chase the bubbles?? I didn't want to have to go back and buy ANOTHER bottle just to open it to see if their was a wand inside. Gosh, I was really looking forward to seeing how Schatzie would react to her "new play bubbles" but now I just have dumb scented water stuff in cute bottles, LOL That will teach me to buy something ridiculous for my dogs, ha ha :D |
When we were kids we'd use one of those ties for bread and form it into a circle to blow homemade bubbles :) Maybe you just feed them and watch her burb bubbles? Kidding, of course! :D It does sound like a very cute idea, though!! I would have bought them too, but have never seen or heard of them! |
Bubble Gun They are for use with this gun http://www.funstufffordogs.com/Qstor...ROD=1078248996 They have it at Target but I couldn't find it online there. I got some too and didn't get the gun. I figured there would be a wand in there too. |
Aimee, that cracks me up about givng the bubbles to eat. I had a visual on that, LOL :p That is hilarious!! |
Oh my goodness! It was bad enough having to explain my "reasoning" behind buying Schatzie bubbles. But now to make matters worse I've got to go get the gun that the bubbles go with. Oh this is all too funny!! My husband always teases me about "going over the top" with some of the things I buy or make or even do for Schatzie, but he says the bubbles take the cake, LOL! ;) |

hahaha i know! i bet you could put the bubbles in a dish and make a little bubble wand out of a bread twistie or something. maybe there's not a wand in there because they figure you wouldn't want bbq flavored bubble juice all over your fingers. |
Ohh..that sound fun!! I bet Mojo would love to play with bubbles...i gotta make a visit there! |
Toto's bubbles came in a little purple bone shaped bottle and the little wand is made onto the cap. The little dipper is oval shaped. She loves the bubbles ... she and Patrick have lots of fun with them! I believe he bought them at PetCo or PetSmart, can't remember which. |
So, what are the ingredients of this bubble solution? The website doesn't say. It would have to have soap in it, correct? What crossed my mind, was to heavily dilute some Aveda shampoo. You know how they tout that all their products are "edible"? But then, that could open a whole can of worms, like, what ingredients are incompatible with canine digestive systems. Any ideas on making our own bubbles? BTW, found a 0.99 dinosaur bubble wand and soap at Fred Meyer's. Worth it for the wand alone, heh. |
hell, you can pick up a bubble set at any dollar store that comes with an asortment of wands, take yur pick. |
Blew bubbles at the park for Bodhi today. It wasn't very fun as he was too busy sniffing the grass. I learned that I need some practice. Very sloppy stuff, heh. There's the "Bubble Man", here in Seattle, who does amazing stuff with various implements. He's always at the street fairs and such. Okay, just found his site Bubbleman.com. Here's one of the suggestions given: "Lay a wool blanket on the floor and blow bubbles on it. The bubbles will not break on the blanket ..." That would give a puppy a heck of a good time, huh? -- I'm still concerned about soap eating, tho. |
