I have had two weigh under 2 oz here in the past 2 months. I had one about 10 weeks ago that was under 2 oz also she had to be hand raised as mom developed complications and had no milk. Took forever to get her going and gaining but when they start to get on solids they pick up every nicely The most recent was in a litter of 4 all normal 4-5 oz pups , then she had a tiny tiny under 2 oz pup , who knows why she had 3 big ones and one tiny tiny one. I ony bred her two days and they were back to back, so positioning in utero to how many in one horn can be many factors in smaller pups being born in a litter. |
Oh you have beautiful little babies. I wish you the best of luck with them all. They are so sweet. Give them kisses from us all. :D |
My mom and her friend just bought two yorkies. we were told my moms friends pup was 1oz at birth and too small to have her tail docked. She is now 4.5 lbs and 5 months. |
awww! she is a beauty:thumbup: |
I haven't read through the thread.... congrats on the litter. I've had a 1 ounce baby before and many 2 and 3. Many times they can grow to be the biggest in the litter so you just never know really. |
Hi, She is such a sweetie. Well...they are all very sweet. Would you consider the little female in pics 6 and 7 a "PARTI" yorkie? I didn't think there was a chance of that because both parent's are regular colored yorkie...I certainly wasn't trying to breed for one,but she does have a lot of white. Is that good or bad? Oh, here is the recipe that was sent to me...looks good. I think I will have the ingredients on hand in case. 10 ounces goat's milk (I found this in a can at Wal-mart and Bloom's grocery store with all the other canned milks) 1 raw egg yolk 1 cup whole yogurt 1 teaspoon karo syrup Mix well (it will be pretty thick) and refrigerate up to 5 days. |
How Cute!! |
Awww! They are precious!!! Congrats! Keep us updated with new pictures when you get the hang of it! |
we had 2 girls born both were 1oz we lost one and they said that the other wouldnt make it but she did i had to hand feed her for almost 2 weeks before i could trust that she could latch on her self with out my help .we call her gracie she didnt hit 1lb until she was 1 year old she is now going to be 4 in march and she is 2.12lbs and is spoiled rotten . |

i hope you get an answer about the parti question. i would say if you are positive they are all purebred yorkie than she could possibly be a parti. |

I bet she is very spoiled. I know Raindrop is the smallest in my family, and she sure is. |

Hey 3 Attachment(s) Like the other lady said birth weight don't mean anything about what she will be. I had two yorkie puppies born same weight, but boy did one out grow the other. One end up being around 6lbs and Keylee I still have her because she grow very slow. She is 7 months old and is 1 pound 8 ozs. She was about 2 oz at birth. But the weight you gave for that puppy at 4 weeks sounds let she is doing great and will be much bigger. This is a good thing, when they are as small as keylee (which I have never seen one as small as her) you have to keep a close eye on their sugar!!!. Go see Keylee's pictues, She is 7 months old and is only 1 pound 8 ozs and 5" tall. Smallest I have ever seen!! I have pictures under the yorkie picture blog, as smallest yorkie. |
