how do yorkie ears stand up? Are dogs that ears standup born with their ears up? Im just wondering because my little girl's ear lay flat, and Im wondering if their going to stand up when she's older? |
can anyone help me ? |
My little Fantasia was real big I thought they was to big for her head but she grew into them and they stand up all the time, but her brother ears was slow to stand but after about a year his is now up. |
I think part of it is genetics. Missy was born with hers standing straight up and so far they haven't changed. Many people have been successful at training their Yorkie's ears to stand up by shaving the top 1/3 or even 1/2 of the ears. I do this anyways just because it looks nice and neat. You can also tape them. If you do a search on the site you will find instructions on how to do this. |
Sometimes you have to shave and tape them to get them to stand. Both of mine's went up on their own |
are you all talking about shaving the ears with like a shaver ?? Im scared I would cut her because shes wiggly all the time |
tape works awesome if they dont stand up ... use the blue paper ductape brand and you dont have to shave them .. it is also non-toxic.:) |

try shaving the tip of the ears.. and massage them so they stand up. give it a couple days.. if they don't stand up, i would tape them! :) good luck! |

Get a small mustache and sideburn elec. razor, You can shave the tip and the sides like a little triangle. This should help. How old is she. None of our pups ears stood up until they where about 10 weeks. Some around 15 weeks. Is she teething. |
