We finally did it!!!! Yay! It actually didnt take that long, but Hank has learned all of his German obediance commands.(well kinda. he is still rusty on a few) soon we are going to start working on some more advanced things. So far he knows: Hier (come) Platz (down) Voraus (go out) Fuss (heel) Still having a few problems with this one Aus (let go/out) Bleib (stay) Nein (no) So ist's brav (thats good) Pass Auf (pay attention) Setzen (sit) Now none of these are sheer perfection but we are trying lol. But he is doing well. |
Oh wow! Good job... how old is he? Did you know all these commands or did you work with a trainer to learn this and then teach him? |
Purely out of curiosity...why German rather than English? |
Reply Hank is 10 months old. No i didnt use a trainer. It took a little longer but i just taught him myself. I chose German because I have a blue heeler who is a trained protection dog who knows German/Dutch and Hank responded better to the German commands than the english. I imagine that it would be less confusing for both dogs if i just used one language for both of their commands. And I just think it's cool that no one can tell your dog what to do. lol |
