Thin Hair }worried{ I know I read about this before but cannot remember. Daisy's Hair seems really thin on the top of Her head,Belly,Underarms, Etc. Why is this ? :lightbulb |
could be in her genes, the food she's on, the shampoo your using. I've seen thinned haired dogs that were bred and produced thin haired pups. I've heard but have not tried Missing Link. Suppose to be good for the coat and also try to find a food that contains Omegs Fatty 3 Acid. |
Actually Bentley's hair was fairly thin until he started to get his adult coat. It seems to be coming in pretty thick. How old is Daisy? |
Sweet Pea's hair is SO THIN!!! It looks like she is bald at time on top of her head. To top it off its coarse and close to her body its like cotton candy. He coloring is a like a zebra on her back strips of black and white. This lil' girl is a mess, but we love her just the way she is!! On the other had, I have Sebastian. He has a very thick, beautiful cotton candy coat. It gets matted very easily if I don't stay on top of it. I haven't found a shampoo that I am pleased with yet. |

Chloe's hair is really thin on top, on her little tummy, and her legs. She has a cottony undergrowth with silky on top. It seems like the cotton is falling out. Her legs were once black and tan, now they are real light golden and very thin. I hope this means she will be very silky and not bald!!!! LOL I think I need help on this one also!!!! (13 weeks old) Joy, Nikki and Chloe Rose :rose: |
I don't think she is going bald. Maybe that means she will have silky texture & you just have to be patient for the hair to come in. Sounds like her tan is going to be a light tan. That's what is great about Yorkies. They come in so many colors. I have 2 pups & the Mom was light tan & light gray, the Dad was black & tan. The pups have different colors in their roots & I am tickled pink. I hope they are different colors because it's very hard to tell them apart! The one's tan coming in is almost creme colored. I love them whatever color they are. Mine aren't for show, they are pets anyway. ;) |
Deegan is just the same way. The hair on his head is so thin , which makes it look scragely. Even on his body, it's still pretty fine. I hope it thickens up soon. When do they start to get their adult coat in? |
When Carter was about 6 months old, I felt that the hair on his head was really thin. His hair is silky. Cooper's hair is really, really thin and he is silky too. I'm hoping as Cooper grows and matures, his hair will thicken some like Carter's did. His hair first looked cottony but once I've cut the puppy hair, it is pure silk. Lisa |
Thin Hair I'm glad to read the posts about thin hair. Samson's hair is thin and when I got him groomed they cut him in a puppy cut and he looked like a long legged rat. His hair is really silky, so hope that means that it will grow long and retain the silky coat as he get older. Glad Samson is not alone with thin hair. |
It has been my experience that puppies go through a "stage" at 4-5 mos where their hair really thins out and they look very scraggly, but then their adult coat comes in and they have plenty of hair. Your puppy mau just be in that stage. |
