We've added to our family 2 Attachment(s) We brought home a 12-week-old Maltese puppy on Friday, so now Ella is a big sister! They are doing pretty well, although Ella sometimes gets a little too agressive and bite-y with the little guy. I think she's trying to assert her dominance, so I have a hard time telling when to break it up. But she also brings her toys to him so they can play, so I think they'll adjust okay. Anyone with any advice on how to make this transition as easy as we can would be appreciated! Here are a couple of pictures, one on the way home and the other hanging out on our first day together: |
Awwwwwwww adorable!!!:) |
Precious pics! As far as advice, I'd definitely keep an eye on the two but also try to let them work it out. |
They are adorable but I told you that on MT too! lol As for the aggression part... I would just let them work it out on their own. Dogs are pack animals and need to establish who is dominate over who, as long as you don't let them forget that you are the pack leader! Just watch them and make sure Ella isn't trying to hurt Jack, but I'm sure he's tougher than he looks! |
awww. cute, cute, they will love each other in no time.. congrats.. hugs, cArmen in nj |

Oh gosh, they are so incredibly cute together! Congrats on the new addition :) |
I'm trying to let them work it out themselves, but sometimes Ella really seems to be biting, especially at his legs and neck/ears. I don't want Jack to get hurt or be afraid of her. How do you tell when it's gone too far? |
