aggressive chewers
 
Hi all :questione I was wondering what bones you guys give your dogs for those of you that have aggressive chewers with sensitive stomachs????

Jack has been doing so well since I have changed his diet to the california natural dog food, no more diarrhea yipeeeee!!!!! :D But the problem is that I am not sure what bones may have contributed to it. I see that they also hate the nylabones. But I cant give him greenies because he eats them really fast and that may have been a big contributed to his problem.

So what edible but durable bone is out there???? If anyone knows Jack will be thankful :) He really misses them and Mandy

Have you tried all the different varieties of Nylabones? They make flavored ones now too. Jo's favorite has always been the little bumpy blue ones but lately he's been chewing on the smooth soft one alot.

Is Jo also an aggressive chewer?? I have not tried the bumpy ones hmmm i think I will. How fast does Jo go through it though???? Thanks

Daisy is only 3 mths old and I worry about what I give her too.I have tryed the Pedigree Denta stix for small - petit and she loves them and they don't bother her one bit :thumbup:

Mandy seems to do fine on all the bones but she does not devour them like Jack does. When he was sick for almost a month with diarrhea I had to take them all away. I am trying to give a few back that he doesnt chew to bits in 10 minutes. I also have tried marrow bones that I buy for my big dog after it is hollow. I boil it for 15 minutes and add a bit off chicken buillion they liked that for about two minutes then the novelty wore off. I was trying to be creative haha !!! trying to be a fun mom :)

Gucci is funny cause sometimes she goes crazy for a nylabone and then wont touch it for weeks. I thought she didnt like them anymore until I decided to try again and she was chewing at it all day. I seem different kinds of nylabones for specifics chewers. You can try the nylabone for heavy chewers and see how it works for him.

It is funny when you take it away for a couple of days and give it back they think its something new and they chew it for a bit then get bored.

They sure are finicky.
I like to surprise them and spoil them with toys so I thought I was be a good mom by buying bones to keep things interesting for them. I was always careful to not give them bones like rawhide. However Jack was still senstive to them. I really think it was the gluten that he cant tolerate.

My babies like the denta bone and it makes their breath reallly fresh.

I guess he was when he was teething but not so much now...he does like to have a chew though. He doesn't really 'go through' them because they aren't edible but he will round them off within a month or so. I used to chase him down if I saw he bit off a chunk and I'd have to take it out of his mouth but now he'll bring the chunk to me or toss it at my feet. All of our Yorkies have enjoyed Nylabones and I know having them around has helped keep them from chewing inappropriate things and for some reason they all like the bumpy blue ones.

Magic has a very sensitie stomach and so she can not have any bones that are can be chewed and eaten so we went to the Nylabones chicken flavor and she loves them...they have some that are different shaped and they go crazy for them....they are almost undestroyable and last a LONG time!!!
