wierd behavior? I am not sure how normal these are, but they just drive me nuts! :confuse8: 1. My Romi (a Morkie) will just sit and stare at me, no one else ME. I can stare back and he will look away, so its not a dominance thing. If I say "stop staring" he will look away, but he eventually goes back to it. If I get agitated, he will move across the room and sit with some one else... to stare at me! I don't know why it annoys me so much, its just unnerving. So, is this normal? 2. Romi bugs me sometimes like a fly would! :bee:Except instead of buzzing around my head its around my feet! its not always me, but usually me, being a year old you think he would know better. He gets stepped on a few times a week! I understand dogs want to follow you and be everwhere you are but some distance would be nice. I mean its almost to the point if I stop, he is just a step from plowing into me. :tongue036 :confuse8: |
It's simple - yorkies (therefore probably morkies) are 'companion dogs' - and they take that responsibility really seriously. We joke about Lucy being attached to our ankles with an elastic band - although she's almost 7 months now and has just about learned to sidestep my clumsy feet! |
I just think they love you and thats why they do those things. When Mine stare at me they usually want something |
Pasquale does the same staring game. At least yours looks away when asked to. HE wont! However, i'll give that staring game right back to him and let him know I AM GOING TO WIN! |
1 Attachment(s) Boo does the staring thing to DH all the time and it drives him crazy too! DH is Boo's human. We laugh and say Boo's practicing his mind control and once he has it perfected DH will have no choice but to do Boo's constant bidding. (where's the little zombie smilie? lol) I really do think Boo does it to see what he can get DH to do. Let him out, give him a treat, play with him. Because it doesn't bother me at all he rarely does it to me. When he does it usually means her really needs something. But DH is a big push over and loves his Boo to pieces, so he rarely can resist. 1) Boo saying, "Look deep into my eyes...you are under my spell...get me a cookie. No wait! The whole box of cookies. :p |
:thumbs up everyone...I needed a GOOD laugh this morning!!!! :eyetearss Daizy stares at me sometimes..not always..but its usually because she wants something, needs to go out...or it's almost like she's waiting for me to get her a treat..:animal36 And she follows me around everywhere...so I am on constant "foot" watch :dogsm6:to keep from stepping on her... I can't even have privacy to go to the bathroom...if I don't leave the door cracked she will whine and scratch... My Tulip is NOT so attatched... what's wrong with me? :scratchhe So I feel you...I love the Mind control comment....:D I wish I could help but I dont have the answer.. Just know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! :love-hug3 LOL |
:D Yes Odie does the same thing although he does stand there and stare after a bit he'll get frustrated and stomp his feet and bark at me as if I am to know just what it is he wants?? Then he'll get his ball and throw it at me and stomp his little feet and bark so then I know he wants to play, (talk about being demanding) but I love him all the same. I couldn't imagine my life without that little furbutt around. He is my sanity. He doesn't do it to any of the other family members just to me but then I am his favorite ;) I think it is puppy love :D |
Tag .... you're IT  He is watching you because You are the leader My pup ... esp the top one does that with me when he's resting he will just sit comfortably and watch me They are waiting for a sign from you a word or a command It's D-O-G so don't get weirded out He's just doing what comes naturally to him |

I think it is normal...as normal as our babies can be  hee,hee Lily is always at my feet....every where I go...and as soon as I sit down..she is on the back of the couch behind me trying to stick her tongue in my ear, my eye or my mouth!! :p Mojo will go with me to the bathroom and sit on the rug and watch and wait....then sometimes, he will just look at me...like "i wuv you mommy"...so of course, I will snatch him up and give him some mommy lovin! I think they are just showing you that they love you and need you and want to be with you always! Now, that is LOVE!!!! Ohhhh...and :welcome4: to YT!!! We are glad you are here!!! |
Thanks Its so nice to know I am not alone. I wondered about the "watching me cause I am the alpha", which I am. I figured all the behavior was normal. So nice to be reassured. As for the comment someone made about him looking away and yours doesn't. I am not sure how I got him to do it, but I started when he was young and stared back till he looked away. I knew that I had to be the dominant one. He also knows the word stare and to look away. Any way, thanks you guys! |
yep..molly does it too. If i am lying on the bed reading a book, she will come and sit about 6" away from my face staring at me. I used to think she was going to attack me or somethng, but she never has, and i still dont know why she does it. It is quite unnerving though! |
Teddy stares at me when he has to go out to go to the bathroom.. :) |
If I stare at Suzi long enough she jumps all over me, and smothers me with kissess... She also follows me all over the place. Always wanting to be near me. When she sleeps she jumps on my bed then has to be touching me. I understand how you feel. I believe you are number one in Romi's life and he looks at you, as if to say, "what's up?" or "What are we going to do now?" :D |
Haha this is all too funny! My princess jumps in my lap and stares at me and if i try to ignore her she smacks me in the face with her paw. It hurts cause of her nails but it is so funny. I am probly teaching her bad manners and no one will wanna be around her after i am done turning her into a monster, but thats good cause I will have her all to myself!! :p |
