why such weird names? Umm just curious. But when somebody buys/sells "designer dog" Why do they give them weird names? Like morkies, labradoodles? Werid stuff like that? Why not say "Maltese x yorkie? I sit to attract the attention of buyers? I look at adds and came across one and This is no joke. There were some type of bull dogs mixed with a shih tzu, and they called them. Well, i think you knw what they called them:rolleyes: .. IT half bothers me that there are people trying to pass these "breeds" off as, well breeds. |
I think that's why they do it- so people will think it IS a breed- and they want to get away from the "mix" since apparely that isn't "popular". |
Ohh. That makes sense. It sucks how many BYBS are out there doing this. :( |
a way to make money i mean what sounds nicer/fancier? yorkiex maltese or morkies? just like the "tea cup" label instead of calling it a runt, its a way for them to jack up the price in my opinion |
Many people that really don't know about dogs really think it is a new breed of dog...I have heard some crazy ones and sometimes I can't even tell what the mixes are. I can't wait until everyone gets over this craze...because it seems like everywhere you look people that know nothing about breeding dogs are just finding a male and a female and putting them together. Yesterday I saw an add in the paper that had a yorkie mixed with chihuahuas and were trying to sell them for 1500!! They also claim they were registered with the AKC. |
I think its just cause its easier to say morkie then "Maltese yorkie mix" etc. Sort of like when celebs get married and become "bennifer" (ben and jennifer) haha |
yeah i agree just a way to make money slapping a new name on a mixed dog to make it sound good! they just dont understand how terrible it is for the actual breeds involved in this mixing:mad: steams me up! Bcause alot of them end up in shelters |
