Tying hair back... I have a question. I've tried many times to get my dogs' hair up in the cute little ponytail, but they are constantly rubbing their heads on the ground to get the rubberband off, and get their hair all messy in the process. Is there a trick to getting it tied back so it doesn't bother them? Is it just something they get used to? I am constantly cutting it away from their eyes, and I know it would be much easier for them if I could just tie it back, but I'm stuck! Thanks! |
i think its just a matter of her getting use to it. when i just got bella i bought a couple of bows and she would break like 2 a day. she would rub it on the carpet or try taking it off herself untill she just realized i would just put on another one. lol |
It could be they just need to get used to it. Another could be it's too tight. Make sure none of the whites of their eyes are showing...this would indicate the hair is pulled too tight. |

Yes, they need to get used to it. My baby did the same thing and if its too tight he will still do it. :D |
Chloe will not keep a bow in her hair (unless we are out and she is walking and distracted) She rubs her head on anything to get it out. So I started using just hairbands. I put her hair in a ponytail and then I put a bow in and then take it out and put it on the table and put her down , most times she wont care that the rubber band is in her hair ( i give lots of praise ) and she thinks she has gotten away with something by only having the band in ;) I am working my way up to keeping the bows in once she is use to the bands. Of course there are the times she figures out she hates the bands just as much as the bows and she is a total mess trying to get it out  But I just keep at it. Also when we are going out for our walk (which she loves !)I always put a bow in right before we put her harness on to go out the door , so she associates it with something good...she does not care at that point that the bow is in there at all ....atleast till we get back home :) |
