Cosequin Bonelets, Hip & Joint Support Plus Supplement, Dogs Buy Cosequin Bonelets, Hip & Joint Support Plus Supplement, Dogs Online at drugstore.com i want to give him something to ease him from breaking any bones or limp. also he have legg preths and before surgery i want to get him on this . so can a small yorkie have this?? i already order it.. |
i think it could give him a tummy ache. |
You need to get the regular cosequin capsules, break the capsule open and poor the appropriate amount over the food. It would really be a good idea to get the baby on something like that. When is surgery scheduled? |
yes, Dolly's been on Dasuquin (a new and improved version of Consequin) for years per vet recommendation, and she is not even 3 lbs. but I would suggest to talk to your vet first. |
Definitely ask your vet!! |
i found this info on site Coesquin® Hip & Joint Support Plus Bonelets can be given all at once or divided throughout the day. Cosequin Bonelets can be administered as a treat or crumbled onto your pet's food. Number of bonelets can be increased at any time depending on your pet's needs.

Weight 30 lbs and under - 1 chewable tablet daily
Weight 31-60 lbs - 2 chewable tablet daily
Weight over 60 lbs - 3 chewable tablet daily
Store at room temperature with bottle tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children. IN order to ensure freshness, on non-toxic desiccant is included in this bottle. so mine is 3~4 lbs. i guess i give him 2/10 pill ? or the whole pill also got him anti-bug shampoo |
anyone? |
we have the cosequin capsules that we give Avery daily! ;) but we also have these, but the blue bottle NOT the green.. it is for smaller dogs! ;) i would see about getting that one!! COSEQUIN Bonelets Hip and Joint Supplement for Dogs - 75 Chewable Tablets and these: Cosequin Regular Strength (90 capsules) good luck! :) |
hm... i just got the COSEQUIN Hip and Joint Supplement PLUS Bonelets for Dogs - 90 Chewable Tablets the green one. did i made a mistake? i already got the pills today. do you think i should not give my dog these pills?? if i can what should i do? it says 30 lbs. and under - 1 chewable tablet my yorkie is 3 ~ 4 lbs. do i need to give him the whole pill or break it half? |
with the bonelets we give Avie 1/2 a pill daily! :) |
the blue and green are the same recommended doses 30 lbs. and under - 1 chewable tablet how much does your yorkie weight? |
on the bottle we have.. it says 15lbs and under 1/2 pill. Avie is 6lbs. since the blue bottle is the regular strength and not the double strength.. i give her half a pill as she has grade 2/3 luxating patellas in both legs! ;) |
sorry i still don't get it ? double strength? i bough this. COSEQUIN Hip and Joint Supplement PLUS Bonelets for Dogs - 90 Chewable Tablets and i have a 4 lb male yorkie. it says 30 lbs and under - 1 pill. should i give him 1 pill or half? or 3/10 |

with the BONELETS the green bottle is the "PLUS" which is a HIGHER STRENGTH.. i don't know how much you would give. how bad is your baby?? is he in a lot of pain? if i were you i would get the regular strength & give 1/2 tablet! ..but that is just me! ;) |
We use Cosequin Regular Strength for dogs up to 24 pounds. I only use the sprinkle on capsules because I prefer the ingredients. If you are unsure of the correct dose, Nutramax will be able to help you. If they aren't giving you answers (which they should), your vet can call and talk to one of their reps or vets. I see no reason to give anything double strength to a Yorkie because the regular dose is probably more than double what they need already. That said, glucosamine is very safe and may not hurt a thing. There are different charts online and variations in dosing. Some vets even use the cat dose for small dogs, so it is really best to talk to your vet and/or the company. |

do not give your dog this! you need to consult with your vet! :aimeeyork:animal-pa |
I'm confused. These are just tablets, right? The ingredients aren't appetizing but it is still Cosequin. Why are so many of you saying to consult the on giving it at all? What am I missing? In a way,the vet should be consulted before any supplement is given but are some of you thinking this is dangerous? |

i already got the pills 2 days ago. blue one Buy Cosequin Bonelets, Hip & Joint Support Plus Supplement, Dogs Online at drugstore.com but having trouble giving to my yorkie. he won't eat it. he smell it and run around it. i had to pretent i'm eating the pill, then hes comes over and look at me eating the pill. and then he eats it. -_- PS: my yorkie eats only human food. he abandon his puppy food. sinces hes about 6~10 lbs. ( which i just notice today ) i give him 3/10 of the pill. |
we put it in Avery's food.. and if we are feeding the cosequin bonelets(like you have) then she will sometimes eat it by itself.. but alot of times i mix it in with her food, as well! we give her 1/2 a bonelet!! :) |

If he isn't eating puppy food and only eats homecooked, are you using supplements? Did you talk to a nutritionist about feeding a homecooked diet to a pup? It can be very difficult to get the vitamins and minerals just right. |
