puppy sizes Our Lexy gave birth to 3 beautiful puppies 17 days ago. They weighed 3 3/4oz, 4 1/2oz, and 4 3/4oz. 17 days later 2 weigh almost a pound (14 oz) but the little one is still very little. He weighs 7 oz. Do I need to worry or is he just going to be an itty one? He seems ok, eats with the others, crawls around, actually seems to be a bit stronger than the bigger ones. ???? As long as he is eating well, I would think that he would be ok. Just watch him and make sure he keeps eating well. |
Sounds likehe is just the runt and just like with human babies the smaller ones are usually no less healthy than the bigger ones if they were carried to term and aren't "preemies". He sounds like a cute little guy! Congrats on the entire litter. Have an y pictures? |
you might want to suppliment the littlest one (syringe feed) once or twice a day in addition to mom, help it gain a bit of weight. congrats and gl |
Congratulations and the syringe feeding is a good idea. You might want to give him a little nutrical twice a day. |
I had one like that from my last litter and he turned out just fine without any help. He ended up being the smallest and the one everyone wanted.. If I had 10 of him , I would have been able to sell them all! Good Luck :p |
