Is 7 Months in Yorkie Like Our Terrible 2's? Hello all, I have to ask the more experienced Yorkie owners is 7 months of age equal to a humans "Terrible 2's" ? I have to ask since my sweet little puppy turns into "Cujo" at a moments notice and then turns to "Miss Sweetness" or "Ms Drama Queen" (i.e., flops down on my lap and pretends sleep, or put her head up and prances across the room). On our afternoon walks she has began barking at our neighbors when they are in their yards, minding their own business. Today she bravely protected me from a blowing paper bag. I know she is a puppy and will grow out of it and actually it is kind of funny. I have to try not to laugh and correct her at times. |
Lol pretty much!! It's gets better hang in there |
How cute. LOL |
LOL I know just what your talking about, My little guy just turned 7mths on the 5th and he went from being so innocent to being oh so brave, he dont bark much yet, but im sure he will giving time with his new brothers & Sisters he has so much energy, never a dull moment, one toy to the next all day, He is finally sleeing after playing for the past 8 hrs  LOL, It does get better though, My older ones try and ignore him, I think he gets on there nerves ;) |
omg do i know what your talking about. Tyke turned 7 monthes this past Sunday and he's like a wild man at times. i thought it was all in my head but as the week goes on he's just full of himself with the toys and running at you wanting to play chase. i'm pooped. i have to get back in shape if i'm going to keep up with him...lol |

one thing that i REALLY suggest is training and working with her through it. milu went to puppy class. and at the graduation (hehe:) ) the teacher told us about the fact that they are going to get naughty, testing boundaries and to make sure we continue working with them on the commands and things like that. hang in there and good luck! :) |
Sadie is over a year and she bravely barks at huge dogs!!! She is wild! And not calming down much I might add.. She is full of it!!! But we love her spirit... You might just have a little wild child!!!:p When she was a young pup, she barked at my neighbors nasty (This dog bites) HUGE german Shepard!!!! Chewy just walked past the house in a big hurry but not her. She stopped and was baking (Like she was telling him off) I was shocked! I had to pick her up and hurry off!!!! YIKES! |
Hehe, Cash was crazy at that age too. He is turning two on the 24th of Jan:D. I remember that it got so bad sometimes that it was too much to handle (I am a single parent:)). I actually thought that I would have to give him away, but instead I enrolled him in excellent training classes. He graduated at the top of his class and we have been best buds ever since. He still gets wild and other people get really mad at him, but I know how to handle him now. Hang in there - it gets a lot better when they get older. The mood swings and tantrums go away (Cash still sulks sometimes, but nothing major and only when he gets a bath and invariably a verbal bashing since he doesn't believe in standing still for more than two seconds:rolleyes:). And the sweetest dogs emerge. My advice is to try some training - proper training (the puppy socialization classes was run by an ineffectual woman and actually caused more problems) - and try to see the experience as a way to strengthening your patience. *Sorry for the long post* |
Definately terrible 2s. My boys were hellions at that age.... chewing everything in sight. Drove me nuts! Thankfully at 3.5 years old they have outgrown that and they are awesome now all the time. :) |
If you don't mind me asking, how do you do those darling little running dogs???? Thanks for sharing! |
:) Yup, Terrible 2's at 7 months. Biggie was a hand full during this time. He went through a phase between 7 months and 8 months where he got a little defiant and did not listen to our commands very well. It was like he was distracted by any little thing...the wind, a sound, a toy..he was a little devil during this time. It was also during this time that he destroyed an object other than paper. He chewed up the cord of a very expensive tool my husband had borrowed from a friend. Thank Goodness it wasn't plugged in. Hang in there this will pass quickly. |
