I'm Upset! Wish I'd know of this site sooner! Hi I am a new yorkie mommy and I so wished I would have known of his site sooner. I have read so much about the puppies being 12 weeks before they are let go to their new homes and now I am upset with the breeder that my husband got her from. She was a surprise Christmas present for me and he brought her home to me on Christmas Eve. My Alli didnt turn 6 weeks till Christmas Day!!! :( She seems to be doing ok but I am worried every minute about her and the hypoglycemia and training and you name it! To top all of that of the breeder is supposedly a "groomer" too and they knew when he was picking her up and they hadnt bathed her or anything and she smelled dirty! No bery good advertisement for their business! I will not be using them for anything! Thank goodness now that I have found yall!:) Everyone wish me luck in my journey! |
Welcome to YT:wavey: Sounds like Alli is fortunate to be out of the breeder's home and with a loving mom. There's tons of info here and I'm sure someone will be able to answer any questions/concerns you come up with. Good luck! |
Read lots and good luck! Post some pictures of your little one. :) |

Welcome to Yorkie Talk!!! Don't worry, everything will be alright, just make sure you find a good vet, and have her checked out. This site is so informative; you'll meet a lot of nice people here with lots of experience but you probably won't get a lot of sleep because you'll be online all of the time. lol!! Good Luck, Prince's mom |
Hi and Welcome to YT... You will find an answer to almost any question you can possibly have about Yorkies on this site...and the people are great too:) Good luck with your new Furbaby. |
Welcome to YT. I agree with Eva that it sounds better for her to be with you and at least you know about hypoglycemia so you can be on the look out for that. I'm sure if you search YT you'll find alot of other people who have been in the same situation and been offered lots of useful advice to help them with such a young baby. Congratulations on your new little baby girl. :) |
Congratulations on your new baby...you will find so much helpful advice and so many friendly people here..Good Luck..:) |

First Congratulation on your new puppy and Welcome to YT! It's never too late I didn't get started learning all about Yorkies until my Buffy was 8 yr old and she is now 11 1/2. I had already learned alot just by living our lives...lol Don't be upset with your DH, even when we know all you need to know about breeders, yorkies or new puppies at the end you just never know what issues will come up until they are grown..... just like children and adults. Do read as much as possible and ask lots of questions, there is almost always someone here at any time day or night....... Good Luck, |

Welcome to YT. Please don't beat yourself up or your hubby about the lack of information. When we know better we do better. Right now just love your Ali and read as much as you can about these sweet yorkies YT is a fantastic site filled with fun, loving, knowledgeable yorkie owners |
Thank all of you soooo much for the warm welcome!:) To be honest I dont think I was this nervous about bringing my skinkids home when they were babies! lol And know there are so many nice people around to talk with about my new fur baby makes me feel so much better. I may have sounded upset at my husband earlier for getting me Alli for christmas and that was not the case by no means. He had no idea about the age thing and I am thrilled to have her. I just want whats best for her. Thanks again to all of you for the info and the warm welcome. |
I know how you feel. I was lost when I got my doggie I read a lot but nothing like getting answers to your questions inmediately from experienced people. I've learned a lot on this site and feel much better about taking care of my baby now. Mia just turned 4 months yesterday and is now 4.8 lbs. Make sure you get some nutrical for your baby that would prevent the hipoglycemia. Good Luck Marlene and Mia |
What a sweet husband! As long as the puppy checks out okay at the vet, she will probably be fine. Glad she is out of that breeder's home and in a good loving home where she will get the care she needs. Good luck with her. |
Best wishes to you and Alli...welcome to YT...we're here for you if you should have any problems or concerns. Kiss that new bundle of fur for me...aaaaaahhhhh...puppy breath!!! |
Congratulations and Welcome to Yorkie Talk. It sounds like your Husband saved Alli from a bad breeder!! What a wonderful Christmas Present too!! Read and ask alot of Questions. That's what we're here for. You're gonna LOVE this site. Best Wishes with the new baby... Hugs to you all...:wavey::welcome4::yorkietal:yorkiesar:woof:: big_hug::aimeeyork |
welcome to YT :D i had a bad experience with milu's breeder as well. milu is a wonderful dog, and she didn't come home too early, but when i got her she was really dirty, smelly, and she had ear mites and a small scab on her.. he really did not take very good care of his dogs IMO! and i never recommend him to people either. (since people always ask me where i got my dog~she is a little angel! :D) |
make sure you have nutri-cal handy, you will probably need it since your baby is so young! |
Welcome to YT! |
Don't worry too much about getting them too young, I think the idea is to wait but like you I got a yorkie at younger than it is suggested because I just didn't know better. My little guy was 7 weeks old when we brought him home. He is now 7 months and really is well behaved. He was pretty easy to house break, he learns new tricks quickly, doesn't bark excessively and overall is a great dog. We have worried lately that he is a little lonely and bought another yorkie from a different breeder. He'll be coming home in Feb and we are excited about raising them together. |
I feel the same way..i wish i knew about this site alot sooner, but i dont regret it because i would not trade my stinky for anything...welcome to yt...u guys will love it here Quote:
