when do yorkies stop growing? my little guy is six months old and weighs three pounds nine ounces when will he stop growing i have heard that some stop growing at six months is that true? |
I'd be interested in knowing as well. I have an 8 mo old Morkie and while he doesn't seem to be growing anymore, I'd like to find out if he will have any growth spurts. |
Me too! Me too! I was looking for a thread about this (I thought I had recently seen). I want to order more clothes, and I want to join the GE, but I want to buy clothes that will fit Lexi's full grown size. I don't want to get great things only to have her grow a little more and not be able to fit into them. |
You'll hear a lot of different things, but, my breeder and my vet have both told me 6 mos. My biewer hasn't grown at all since she was 6 mos(she's 7 mos today). Smaller dogs usually quit growing around 6 mos. although, some will get a little growth spurt, or they may fill out a tad bit more after that. My oldest biewer quit growing around 6-6 1/2 mos. my yorkie was not ordinary and kept growing and growing and growing..she loves her kibble |
BOTH of mine continued to grow after a year old. BOTH of mine tripled their weight from what they were at 12 weeks old. :D Because people keep breeding Yorkies with no forethought the Yorkie breed is unpredictable. So it's really hard to tell what your little one will weigh. The charts are not accurate - just a guideline. The best way to tell what they'll weigh is to talk to your breeder. Find out what the grandparents and greatgrandparents on BOTH sides weighed. Also please remember that there can always be a large and/or small one in the litters, too. Hope this helps. |
