Walking More Than One Dog Ok - so since tomorrow is the big day and I get to pick up my new lil' guy I've been thinking about how I'm going to walk to two of them or what'is the best way. I used to have a German Shepard and a Sheltie and I walked them either with separate leashes and sometimes used a coupler, but they were fairly easy to train, where these little yorkies seem to have minds of their own sometimes. I've been using a flexi for Deegan, but I don't that'll work with two dogs. So I was just wondering what those of you who walk more than one dog use, or find easiest. |
When I lived with my old roomie she had 3 newfoundlands and a pit and we would walk them 2x2. She had an extra extention to put on the leads so you could walk two together. I wouldnt use the flexi if your gonna have more....good luck! :) |
There was a member on here who had a dog with back problems from using a coupler. It puts a lot of stress on their little bodies. I bought one for my two but have never used it. We walk with two separate leashes. It took me a LONG time to get used to it but it works out for us now! Maggie tends to get tangled easily so we use a retractable with her and just a regular nylon leash with Franklin. They sometimes tangle and switch sides and you can see me twirling and turning with my leashes while walking down the street. ;) |
I just use separate leashes. Ive tried using a coupler but Chachi walks faster than Jewels and pulls her along |
i tried a coupler and it just didn't work. they pull too much. i walk 3 yorkies. each on on a flexi. you eventually get the hang of it. the main issue is they get twisted up. |
