My BF dog had a black nose but now he is starting to get pink at the tip. He will be 2 in april, but I though something with age? But then he really isn't old. He is a buff color with white freckles. |
It is a pigment thing. I knew a large dog (border collie mix) that had a pink nose when he was born. It was cute, and never had any problems with it until he got older. By the time he was 8 years old, his nose was so sensitive that if he bumped it too hard, it would bleed. It always looked "raw". The vet said it was just a pigment thing and said to try and keep him from bumping it and re-opening the wounds. |
Hmm, I've heard it's called "winter nose". It's just loss of pigmentation during the winter and it will usually turn back to black in the summer. I did a google search and came up with a few things as to why this happens and this is one of the reasons why. They are all so cute with their slightly pink noses :D |
