Jelly is adorable, God is good. I would love to hear her story also. |
Jelly's story For all of you who asked...here ya go. Jelly was out of a litter of 6 little princesses. She was so much smaller than the others when she was born, her mom knew something was wrong and kept whining to us and moved her. We quickly intervened, made a homemade incubator, handfed every 2hrs, gave her dabs of cornsyrup, she was doing a little better than she aspirated, I thankfully had read up on puppy CPR but it took so much out of her. The vet told us on three seperate occassions that they didn't feel she would make it. She was just too weak. We refused to give up. The vet is astonished and makes over her everytime we have went in. The name Jelly hit me like a ton of bricks. Ya see we had been making Jelly/Jam for the 1st time over the summer and it had to be made just right to set, well the baby had to be taken care of just right to live, thus the name jelly, (it turned into Jelly Bean because my husband and 3 yr old son loves jelly beans. Of course my 3yr old likes to call her jelly fish cause she wiggles in his lap.) |
Oh I love Jelly's story. Did the Mom ever accept her back and start feeding her? Do you plan to keep Jelly (I hope you do)? That is a great story, you truly are a wonderful person to take care of that little puppy. That is the story I needed to turn my day around. |
Oh I love stories like that! You're right she IS a special little girl |
Yes the mom accepted her back. We would every couple of hours take baby Jelly to be with her mom and bond with the litter. She was returned back to the litter full time after about 1.5 weeks but we had to supplement feeding the whole litter because the size. The mom developed mastitis on top of it was just to hard on her to care for all of them. Daisy is my baby girl, we wont be going thru that again. Yes we are keeping Jelly. The other pup in the picture we are getting quite attached too but we unfortunately need to sell her. Her future owners were not able to make it in from W. VA. to get her. |
It's a tough job sometimes to raise a litter of puppies and it's tough on the Mother dog as well many people think that it's cute to have puppies around but it's work trying and scarey sometimes |
It's a lovely story and Jelly is so beautiful - special girl you have there  |
What a beautiful and special little girl you have there... I'm glad to hear you are keeping her. I know you've all developed a very special bond. |
Awww Jelly is adorable, and obviously a fighter! Good for you taking such great care of her. |
