Humping Okay I have a three year old girl, one year old girl and a 9mth old boy. The boy of course is marking and humping everything which I understand but the one year old girl is fixed but for some reason the other two keep trying to hump her. Is this a sign of dominance? WHy do they do this? Can you control marking or are you always resigned to a belly band until a male dog is fixed. |
We're having them same issue right now I have 2 males and one is humping the other occasionally but the are only 13 weeks old I know that it is one trying to assert dominance over the other I'd like to know from others is if this is a temporary thing or am I going to have to be wary? |
I am no pro by any stretch of the imagination but my boy turned 1 in July and he humps and humps and humps.... One day it stopped and 2 weeks ago it started back up... I thought we were over it but apparently his HORMONES or shall I say TESTOSTERONE haha has kicked in... He even humps through his belly band... He will hump anything and everything in sight...I use the command "NO HUMP" and he immediately stops .. I bet I say NO HUMP 50 times a day which is ridiculous but on a lighter note I am glad he understands the command and OBEYS:animal-pa |
molly still humps my leg even though she was spayed a year ago. she does have the grace to look slightly embarrassed when she starts to climb on my leg though!! |
Dogs humping is completely normal. My Jack was neutered at 6 months old and a couple of months later, he was trying to hump our spayed lab/catahoula mix. It was funny. But, he eventually stopped and I haven't seen him do that in probably 3 months. I think it's just a phase dogs go through.:animal-pa |
So can you control it by telling them no? Its so confusing. THanks ladies for all your replies. My boyfriend and I are so annoyed with the marking and humping. Does the marking stop after they have been nuetered. |
My 5 month old pup, has his cuddly toy teddy in his mouth and a big plastic toy under his bits and he does the humping thing, I do belive having them castrated lowers the urge, but it does take some months for it to go out of the system. I know I will have to have him done, but I dont want to be the one to take him to the vets and little dogs are in more danger of going under the anesthetic and I will be the one feeling awful and guilty of taking him |
Gucci was neutered in November and I've noticed that he hardly ever humps his Humpy Dog anymore. Still leaving little marks around the house occasionally, but I think that's because my husband doesn't get him out often enough during the day while I'm at work. Good luck. Kathy |
humping After my boy was neutered he has not stopped trying to breed with my female. I freaked out when I came around the corner and my male and female were connected (she was in heat) and then I remembered he could not do any damage. Its been over two years and he still has the tendency to breed with my female. I will be getting the female spayed soon so won't have that problem in the future. So as far as do they ever stop humping I don't know.:) |
