Taping, worked like a charm...
 
I was sceptical about taping Piper's ears. When we got her on Christmas Eve. her ears were not up. I read several posts on here about taping, so we purchased blue painters tape and taped her for 24 hours. That's right, 24 hours and her ears have been up since.

Blue painter's tape is a great idea; it's not so sticky that it would be hard to get off. I've heard that some people have trouble at 6 months of age too, when they are getting their second set of teeth, the calcium needed for teeth is temporary pulled from the ear cartilage causing droopy ears.

Here are a couple of pictures of Piper and Peyton pre-taping. and the last pic is with Piper's ears standing TALL.:aimeeyork

They are 9 1/2 weeks now and doing great.

Oh my goodness !!! That last picture is just adorable. Sooo cute!! My babies ears are up but sometimes when they are tired their ears droop. They look so cute with droopy ears. Then their ears will go up again. Sometimes it's just 1 ear that droops. Sooo funny

OH MY WORD!! :eek: They are soooo adorable!!! :D

Yogi's left ear has been droopy lately. Poor baby :( He was bumbling through the living room the other night and I hollered at him, "Yogi! Your ears broke! How did ya break your ear? Or are you just signaling for a left hand turn?" He stopped dead in his tracks and looked up at me with the biggest grin on his face as if to say, "Us bad boys wear our ears like this, Momma. :cool:" and went bumbling on his way to go pester his big sister.

I really want to try this with Bria they stood up for like a week then went back down...and sometimes only one stands up! :rolleyes: I'm just not sure if i want to shave the hair on her ears :idontknow

Yes, shave the top 1/3 of the ears, inside and out and they will probably stand up all on their own. Both Gracie Ruth and Yogi's stood right up after I tipped them. Yogi's has SO MUCH HAIR - picture a Yak and that's Yogi - and his ears simply had too much hair again. Last night DH held the wild beast (hey! where's our Wild Beast Smilie?) down while I tipped them again and this morning it was nearly all the way back up. So it was either the cutting off of the excess hair or me pulling on his ear :eek: all night long that worked.
