I hope the recovery is quick for Coco. Barring some major problems later on, I have decided not to spay Chai and Ava on the advice of my new vet. I am so relieved that I don't have to go through it with them. I would be a nervous wreck.:getwellso

Lili is recovering too
 
My Lili is recovering from her spay yesterday. She came home ans was so sweet and just wanted her mommy to hold her. I feel so bad she has to go through this. i know she has to be hurting. She is such a sweetie. I was so worried yesterday. Talk about a nervous mommy! :aimeeyork

Just spoke to Nobella and she said the vet didn't remove any of little Coco's baby teeth. :D

Dr. Blake (www.the petwhisperer.com) does not believe that altering a pet is necessarily better for it health wise as a lot of vets will argue. He is of the opinion that animals should be left with "all their parts" unless there is some valid reason for taking them away. If it would be impossible to prevent unwanted pregnancies for example, he would recommend spaying, or if a male makes life miserable with his marking idoors, for example. But he says there is no scientific evidence to sugges that spaying and /or neutering is healthier. Sure those dogs will never get testicular or mammary cancer because they do not hve those parts but that is not a reason to remove them from otherwise healthy dogs. I like his logic so since Hefner cam to me neutered and there is no chance of an unwanted pregnancy I am not going to spay them unless they start having false pregnancies or something else makes it advisable.

Just a personal decision I have made.

He said most had fallen out already. When I had Codie and Katie spayed, they both had 9 teeth each removed! :eek:

eeeeeeeeek, my vet is charging 60bucks for the first 2 teeth then 25 each additonal tooth .. man Nobella lucked out .. well CoCo actually did .. teehee

Coco was showing lots of gums the other day lol, so I bet she will loose the rest of them just fine on their own :p

Missy will be spayed next month, even though I have a neutered male in the house I dont want to risk her getting cancer. Getting your female spayed can be a nervous time but that one day or worry beats what you and she would endure if she got cancer later in life. JMO

BTW, Missy she wont need any teeth pulled either. She lost her last tooth about 1 mo ago :D

My vet only charges $10 per tooth, Max had 4 pulled and it costs me an extra $40 :D not bad at all.

Oh good to hear this too - we really do stress out - I cried for an hour after I left mine - it's really hard being brave. I'm glad YOUR baby is ok too - Mine bounced back pretty quick and I was always on the look for pain but it was very mild from what I could tell
