Is she crying? Hello again! Do all yorkie's eye's tear? Is there anything I can do to help with this? |
lexi is always wet around the eye area.. i was wondering the same thing. |
i think so..... |
i dont think its crying, is it? dont tell me that, ill be so upset.. |
I know that it is normal. My pups and Tiah all tear more the more they play. In other words, the more fun they are having, the worse they look. |
Muffin's eyes did not tear. She did have matter in the corners, but never any tear tracks. However, Kacee's are tearing and I plan to have them checked. Perhaps this thread will answer a few of your questions: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...hlight=tearing Let us know how things work out. OK? :) |
Thanks for your input, it's nice to know I don't have the only crying yorkie out there :D |
That shouldn't happen, I would get her checked out. In my Katia's case it was hair that kept getting in her eye. We trimmed that and no more tears. I would check that first. |
I do think pups tear more. Tiah doesn't tear unless she is playing really hard. Vet checked mine and they are fine. However, it wouldn't hurt to have your vet take a look at the ducts. |

haha i meant to say i think it's normal.. i dont know where my brain is today |
I don't think it is "normal" and there are ways to stop it. I know that some do nd some don't. I would find a homeopathic vet and find out what homeopathic remedy might work to stop the excess tearing. |
Ok, "normal" wasnt' the right word. I should have said "common". It is common for a Yorkies eyes to tear. It should be a concern though if it is excessive or not clear in color. You can find out more by going on Google and typing in "Yorkies eyes tearing". I LOVE Google! You can type in anything and gets tons of info. |
I have to agree that it is common, it is not that noticable if the hair on their nose falls over the tear stain. I had a puppy who had an eye infection, it put crusty stuff around his little eye and would glue it shut. I know they also sell stuff to take the stain out if it is a problem. Mine always wash clean, or their hair just doesn't show it, or it is just hidden. I would say not something to worry about. |
i have noticed that Oreo's eyes look wet in a sense. Not exactly crying. The vet said he was Okay and healthy. Even gave him some antibiotic eyedrops, he plays and eats fine.. I think it is common for the eyes to appear wet or glossy? |
