hiccups is it normal for puppies to get hiccups? kayden has had hiccups every day for the last 4 days. she is 9 weeks old now. she's eating and drinking well. growing like a weed. they don't seem to bother her...but i know how uncomfortable hiccups are to me. anything i can do to prevent them...or to help them go away once she gets them? thanks kelli |
When I first got Jack, he was 3 months old and it seemed like he got the hiccups everyday for quite some time. He'll be a year old this month (27th) and I haven't noticed him having them as much any more. It may just be a puppy thing. It never seemed to bother him either. :animal-pa |
Molly still gets hiccups sometimes. Usually when she runs around too soon after eating. Doesnt seem to bother her tho, and it soon goes away. |

when we first brought prince home he had the hiccups quite often. i was very nervous and when he got the hiccups i was like Omg what was that!? lol but i think they grow out of it because its been almost 2 weeks and he doesnt really hiccup anymore. (Once in a while) he will grow out of it!:) |
Puppies hiccup a lot, just like babies. They will outgrow it. Until then you can try a couple of things to stop them. Blowing gently in their face or picking them up and setting them down a few times. I've had luck with both ways...and not so much luck at other times. It really doesn't seem to bother them...however, it is quite funny to watch Gracie Ruth's reaction when Yogi get them. You'd think an Alien was going to explode out of his body with the odd looks  she gives him. :p |
hiccup thank you all for the replies. i feel much better now. :) |
Yep, Turkleton had hiccups pretty much every day for the first 2 weeks we brought him home. To me, it always sounded so pitiful. He barked in the night a lot though...sometimes I think that was part of the cause(him taking in so much air). |
