Rolling around on the carpet - WHY??? This maybe be a silly question, but I was wondering why are they rolling all around on the carpets? I have hardwood floors and tile with some throw rugs. Up until now I have kept TJ and Roxy AWAY from all the rugs! Over the weekend we visited with family who has carpet and/or throw rugs. They were both very good with the potty issues and they only did it in their box. I was so proud!!! So, I have been introducing my throw rugs to them. They love them! TJ especially, he is constant rolling around on them! Is there a reason why??? Sometimes, he really digs his head and neck back and forth into the rug. I was worried maybe his ears are bothering him, but he doesn't act like anything is hurting! Someone told me that they are putting their scent into the rugs, is that the case? |
Our boy Shiloh loves to roll around on the carpet when he is able to get to one. I usually have those carpeted areas blocked off.. But sometimes it is just to cute to watch. Ellie and Destiny only roll around acting all goofy after their baths, I will lay their towel on the floor and they do the same thing.. It makes sence to me that they are putting their scent on the rugs or in Ellie and Destiny's case trying to get rid of the soap scent.. But, Im not sure.. :) |
itchy? Hi I don't really know why they do it but I know my Katie does it when her skin is kind of itchy. After I give her a bath she takes off and rubs all over the couch like she is trying to rub the water off. It's so cute. I had a toy poodle that would roll and wiggle on her back every time she got through eating and bark and wiggle like she was the happiest dog on earth! Maybe they just really liked visiting?! :D |
Ramsey does this, but not on the carpet... I always see him doing it in the grass especially after I give him a bath. |
YEAH, they do it on the couch too, and on the bed and pillows, maybe they do have an itch as well! And what's up with the Diggin' to China (as me and my boyfriend call it)??? TJ and Roxy will dig into the bed, blankets and pillows. It is so funny, so me and my boyfriend just keep repeating: Diggin' to China, Diggin' to China when they do this... Do you know why they dig like this? |

Ramsey digs like that if I wont let him under the covers. Sometimes I think he does it to fluff the covers before he lays down. |
Trixie does this too! Its soo cute to watch her. She does it in all the carpeted areas and with my rugs -- we have hardwood floors also with some carpeted areas.. hehe Also before bed she does it all over the bed on the comforter! I've been meaning to video it cause its so entertaining and funny--I tell her when I put her on the bed lets do our *playtime bed routine* and she goes to do it! haha |
My girls do that same thing...we have hard wood floors but have a big rug in the living room and they will go and rub their backs on it...I think it is just something soft they can scratch on and it feels good on their fur...I am not sure, but it is really cute when they do it!! |
rosie does that as well, she has a big blanket that she drags onto my hardwood floor puts a couple of toys on it and rolls around talking at the same time, its so funny to see, she also digs and digs on my bed, sofa or any comfy place i think shes making her bed wendy and rosie :rose: :yorkiesar |
Skippy and Gwen always roll all over the carpet after their baths. I think their trying to get the water off. Whatever their doing it's cute. |
I think Dudley does it to mess up his hair!! I just get through brushing him and telling him how beautiful he is and he starts "scruffing" and voila his hair is a mess!! |
I recently put in a laminate floor in the den instead of carpet, so I have tile, laminate in the front area and carpet in the bedrooms. As soon as they come in the bedrooms, they roll around. I'm holding off with new carpet until I'm confident of their potty skills but I swear they are getting off the dirt and grass from outside on the carpet. At this rate, I'll never see new carpet. |
