Angry with my vet
 

I am really really mad at my vet! Each time my dog comes out of heat I try to get her spayed they will not spay her until she has been out of heat for three months. Her last cycle before this one she had a false pregnancy so I took her in to have her checked for a prespay appt when she got over her "pregnancy and her teats dried up " Vet refused to spay her stating she was fat. She runs ALL the time chasing her toys and balls and I did not see where she was fat but I figured the vet should bloody know what the heck they are talking about right??? :mad:

Well she has had a cycle since then and I thought all was well but there she is on her couch leaking milk again and being aggressive with the other dogs watching over her "puppy"

I have attached pictures as follows
1) Kissa with her puppy pulled away from her by me
2) Kissa on the guard because one of the dogs is behind me
3) Kissa on my bed after I removed her from the other dogs and her puppy to get a shot of her

Now she has to go through ANOTHER false pregnancy and adjustment and now I have to wait until her milk has fully dried up AGAIN!!! Hard enough on me but what is it doing to her?? And I am REALLY scared because these increase her chances to come down with a uterin infection (spelling?) I would take her to our other vet but that man should not even be a vet he is afraid of dogs he likes cats. Took the jack russell in to him and he tried to bite him so the guy tried to hit my dog three times ( I was quicker then the vet) and then pulled his ears together and way back and well suffice it to say I almost punched the guy in his face for what he was doing to my dog and I won't go to him again. So now I do not know what to do.
Anyone here live in Northern England that could point me to a good vet???

Wow your vet seems really picky. I have never had a vet put stipulations on getting neutered like that. I have only had my boys fixed though. It almost sounds like he doesnt want your business. And no that does not look like a fat dog. Looks healthy and normal to me.

Awwwwe, the poor thing! You can tell in the first 2 pictures with her "pup" that she isn't being herself. She is a pretty girl and in no way should be considered "fat". I'd ask the vet exactly what his reason is for not spaying her and having her go through this again (that's if you can't find a "normal" vet). Sounds like the 2 vets you did find over there aren't worth going to.

Doesn't look fat to me! Even if she was - what does that have to do with anything?!?!?! Your vet sounds like a spaz. Find a new one! Good luck!

i think i'd get a second opinion

She isn't fat. That seems ridiculous. While I'm certainly not an expert on these matters, it would seem to me that he could be putting her health at risk by delaying spaying her.

I would defintitely get another opinion and maybe switch vets.
