Haha- it's ok, Nancy. I appreciate your way of describing things. Bravo. |
What food are you currently feeding? Changing that could help immensely. Also, using a probiotic/digestive enzyme product can help if he is actually having undigested food come out the other end (leaving it still smelling like "food" to the dog). You could also try Solid Gold's S.E.P. (stop eating poop). |
I've only ever fed them Nutro. |
This thread is quite interesting. Walker doesn't go for his own poop. Only other dogs gross stuff. Seems he can smell its yummy goodness from miles away. Good luck and I hope you find a solution since it isn't the most pleasant problem. haha. |

I don't know why canned pineapple wouldn't work, how many people are going to have fresh on hand every day? I've read that many people have had success with canned. |

I used to have a female dog (she was a big rescue dog) who always ate her own poop even when frozen on the ground. Ever had popcicle turds? It drove us crazy. Not much we could do about it but make her stop when we saw it. Roxie can't get far enough away from anyones poo...she'll be running across the grass and come upon a pile and jump as high as she can to avoid it. It's really quite funny how quick this happens. The problem I do have with her is that she will go downstairs to the cat box. That's just plain nasty. She's not even allowed down there and she knows it. I've heard it's because cats digest whole pieces of food. Still yuck...drives me crazy because her bowl has food in it all the time so why would she want that? |

I read that since cats are carnivores, their poop is very high in protein. Hence, a delicious treat for dogs. It's the ultimate in natural snacks! |
Mommy to 2 poo eaters!! My 12 week old girls love to eat poo! Rosie actually snatched the toilet paper out of my hand that I used to pick up the poo and ate the poo and shredded the toilet paper in warp speed before I could get it back from her!!!! Bella is just as guilty!!! I actually smelled it on Rosie's breath RIGHT after I brushed her teeth and gave her a bath last night. I had to take her directly to the sink and wash her face again and blow dry her face! What do you do? I'm going to try the pineapple since they don't seem to be growing out of it!!!:aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
Well, I just returned my Nutro and bought a bag of Wellness. I was torn between that and Merrick, but my step-sisters is in love with her wellness. We'll see.. |

I bought a bad of the Dole cubed pineapple in the freezer section and man does it smell fresh!(major juicy when it thaws) I just increased the amount I'm feeding him and it does seem like it may be working. I was only giving him 2 pieces a day, but now I give him 3 at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only thing I kind of worry about is the sugar. |

btw- I went back and read what I wrote in my previous post and I just want to clarify that I am only giving him 3 chunks total(one with each meal). |

Just and update: so far so good on the pumpkin! Either I'm not noticing him eating, he's eating less and not vomiting, or it's ACTUALLY WORKING! |
