Urgent Help!! Hello everyone, I just have one question.....Tinkerbell had and ear infection (which she seems to get every 4-6 months) in June and she got Baytril Otic prescribed, she has some left over from june and it's not experied..........I think she has an ear infection ( I know her symptoms) Can I use this?? Or should I take her to the vet?? Nothing else is really wrong with her, sometimes she gets them because she has allergies and well she seems to get them every 4-6 months on the dot. Please someone help!! |
I think this is one of those things where the owner needs to call it because you know your dog and you know how your vet would feel about it. Ellie gets yeast infections in her ears often and I had Otomax left over. This time I told the vet that I was just going to use it because I was positive of the issue and she said go for it. Then again, these meds do have antibiotics in them and it is always better to get a diagnosis. If she has gotten these all along and you are sure, I'd probably just do it but wouldn't want to recommend that to someone else. |

I agree with what Crystal said. I'd probably do it too, but wouldn't want to tell someone else to do it. Maybe just for peace of mind, give the vet a call and tell them what you've said here and see what they say. I hope she gets better fast!! |
On a slightly different topic, there has to be a reason why this keeps happening. Are you sure there isn't an underlying issue? If you do tink it is allergies, have you through about an elimination diet for food or drugs for environmental? |
