Too much sleep?? My pup is 10 weeks and sleeps 7-8hrs straight during the night ( I know, lucky me!!!) After her sleep, she is really energized. She eats and plays like crazy. But a couple hours after, she starts to die down and likes to nap. The rest of the day is pretty much like that: Wakes up, runs and plays for an hour or two, and then naps for at least a couple hours. By the end of the night, I try to keep her up longer by constantly keeping her busy but she usually can't keep her eyes open for more than a few hours. i worry about letting her sleep so much because I'm convinced she won't sleep during the night but she does- every night, all night. Is she sleeping so much because something might be wrong, or just because she's still a young puppy? |
Enjoy it while you can. She is just being a puppy. A few more weeks and she'll be wild. Then she will start to calm down again. Baxter is just starting to calm down at one year. Puppies are just like human babies when it comes to sleeping. |
That's normal. She's growing and probably needs the rest. Most dogs, even adults, sleep quite a bit. |
Its perfectly normal for a puppy to sleep most of the time . |
That is normal. Mine slept all night like that since they were pups also. Your one of the lucky ones |
Hi Roxanne, yes I agree you have no worries. Sleep is as important to a young puppy as food is!! Just helps them grow, and at least you know he's content!! Love Wendyx Fifi:animal36 And Lulu:animal36 |
My baby sleeps a lot too. We will play hard for 30 minutes then she is out for like 2 hours. So when I need to get some work around the house done I know to play hard for about 30 minutes so I can have about a 2 hour window to clean. LOL |
Yup .... Parr for the course Play Play Play and then Sleep Sleep Sleep What? You want them to be up all day? I'd get nothing done |
