Wanted: Dog Massage Book recommendation Hi everyone, I was thinking it may be a nice thing to give my dog a massage - has anyone done this and read any books to teach the right techniques etc? Any recommendation would be much appreciated! :) Thanks!! |
I've never read any formal books on massaging, but Lexie enjoys the massages I give her. I kind of mimmick the massages I've gotten and also watch for Lexie's reactions on what seems to relax and please her most. If you find any interesting books, please post. Good luck on your search! |
The Telllington T-Touch is probably the best known book on massage: |
A friend of mine with yorkies has recently began to study massage therapy for dogs and I've forgotten which book she had recommended, I'll ask her tomorrow and update my post. This is one link I found and was reading about, they offer a dvd. There are also links on the page to the left side for books. Pet Owners Massage DVD *Special* - Bancroft School of Massage Therapy |
[quote=Ladymom;2389648]The Telllington T-Touch is probably the best known book on massage: I bought this book to help my rescue yorkie settle in..it works a treat, and i use it whenever she starts to get anxious about things.(especially when the postman calls!!):D |
Sounds great! I will check out The Tellington touch. I have tried the ear technique during puppy class and it did work. Thank you all so much for the tips! |
My friend is studying animal Reiki. After reading more about it I'm interested now. |
