10PM Terrier Races! Do any of you experience the terrier races? Every night for the past week it seems to be an unwritten law that we must have terrier races through the house at 10PM! I have a Jack Russell and she gets my Yorkie puppy going every night. They begin with the butt in the air, jumping at each other then the JRT takes off and the puppy follows. It's quite entertaining and they even take turns letting the other one "win". Makes me smile every night!! |
Two yorkies + a Siamese Yes, we have these every night around ten o'clock, also around 4 am when I get up for work. My guys even include my 20 pound Siamese named Sake. |
haha yeah..10pm..right when i want to go to bed..he wants to play..go figure.. |
Ours is nearer to 11 pm. I call it playin tag. Up and down on the furniture. Up and down the hall. Our living room is divided from the kitchen by a wall with a doorway into the hall that also leads to the kitchen so they go round and round. The flooring in the kitchen is wood so they really slid when they play tag. LOL BTW, we have 7 but usually it's only the younger 6 who play tag, also they are NOT quiet about it. LOL Sylvia |
I only have one, but Loki does this around 9:00. Even after I walk him he has to run laps around the house at top speed for about 5 minutes before he will curl up with a bone. I can't figure him out, but it sure is adorable! |

playin' tag Our boys start at 10 minutes to ten EVERY night. It goes on for an hour. They play tag and chase each other around the family room and kitchen, which is open. And, if by chance you get in their way, well look out cuz they don't stop. This is when they are the most vocal too. they let each other know who's boss. I actually love this time of night with them. They are hilarious. Max, the more quiet docile baby gets going and they run so fast they just can't stop. It's great. |
Oh yeah, we go through this every night too. You aren't alone. |
Isn't that funny, mine do the same thing, except I've got hurdles on the track (Great Dane and 2 labs) so it's more of a steeplechase. sometimes one or two forget which direction the race started so there are collisions and the whole extravaganza is presided over by Ana who is far too dignified to participate and just observes from her perch on the sofa. It's a nightly ritual known to the household as the 'Last Hurrah'. |
I call it mad dog! |
when Romeo was an only child, he did laps around the the living room every evening...now that he's had a brother to two weeks they have started doing this too...it's funny because I've got an 8 month old 3.5 pound and now a 12 week old 1.2 pounder....he can't keep up but he tries! |
Trace is an only pup too, but he still participates in what we call "go-going". He prefers to go go in our yard, round and round, faster and faster. It's so funny to watch him. Our cats (3) on the other hand do this in the house, we call it the "kitty crazies". Generally they prefer to do this AFTER we've gone to bed, that drives Trace crazy cause he's in our bed and can't get down....so he has to stand at the edge of the bed and bark at them. I know he's telling them...."hey I wanna play that too". :D |
this happens in my house toooo. .lexi goes crazy about 830pm every nite. its so funny, she knows its funny. i sit there laughing by myself as she runs like speed lightning through the whole house.. first around the coffee table into the bedroom ,down the hall, back into the livingroom, onto the couch, missing sometimes and bouncing off her chest.. and back around for another time |
