It is Beaver. When Mrs Biewer pronounces her name it is Beaver.Ask Pruett she talked to her face to face.We talk to Mrs. Biewer about every 2 weeks on the Phone. In reality there is not half as much mystery to the Biewer. It was all created in America, mostly by people that have no clue what they are talking about. That could be ,why so many are fascinated with this beautiful little dog. There is so much room to spin your own yarn. The BTCA is the only club that has done extensive testing on this breed and are able to back up what they believe in.If you are truly interested in what we have found out,we would be happy to share what we know and why. |

I am new to yorkietalk. I joined to meet other folks that have a love for colors, all the colors Yorkies come in. My favorite is the choco parti's and blondes! |
I have to say one thing about breeding colors, you certainly learn basic 101 genetics. Phenotypes (what you see) and genotypes (what is in the gene pool you don't see). I recently purchased a light colored yorkie - not sure what to call his color? He was born black but very quickly turned white. He carries for chocolate Bb and Cream Ee, does not carry dilute gene, and is a parti carrier. I registered him as a blue/gold because I did not know what else to register him as. |
Welcome to YT. Don't know if you realize but you posted on a very old thread :). |

I didn't know where to start so I just looked for something interesting and jumped in. Not sure how to navigate around yet. I am still trying to figure out how to put my dog pic's up under my user name. LOL |

There are varying opinions about Biewers verses Parti's but what I do know for sure is that AKC recognizes parti's but not Biewers. I am strictly AKC as a breeder. There are many breeders out there trying to improve the parti's to bring them up to show standards. Parti's typically have been larger than the traditional, longer noses, bodies, bigger ears, etc. But that is starting to change due to better breeding practices and adding nice show lines to improve type. I am new to parti's myself but an eager learner - so I have been studying everything that I can about parti's and differnt color genes. I have alot to learn yet! |
Thank you so much, I appreciate your help. One of your Yorkie pic's resembles one of my yorkies. I will try to get her up so you can see her. |

Patches 4 Attachment(s) I just made a post on another blog on this same topic I have not been on for a while because I lost my little Leah to Parvo and was heartbroken but when my husband brought me home this little ball of fur called Patches I fell in love with her and she is Half regular toy Yorkie and half Biewer Yorkie with all the Biewer Markings and because the mother and father were both AKC registered so is Patches, when I asked about the colors I was told to pick the ones that best described her so I choose the blk tan since she does have those colors plus the white, I am still confused on the difference on the Parti and the Biewer Yorkie but the breeders did a DNA on Patches for me and it says she is Biewer Yorkie I just don't see the fuss I want to breed her when the time comes but now I don't know if I will be able to find another Biewer Yorkie and there is the fact that my Patches is only half so is all this going to be an issue in the end. But without question I am proud to add this little girl to our family so I am attaching pictures of our new baby girl and may our Leah RIP. This gift from my husband has brought a smile back to my face she is full of kisses all the time and loves to sit up for us so please welcome our Patches. Susan. |
