Laser tag anyone? General Lee loves to play with the laser.:D He will sit at the dresser until I get the laser and then he will chase it and bark like crazy. If I turn it off, he will hunt for it for a bit. It is great exercise especially when I run him up and down the stairs. His little tongue will be hanging out of the side of his mouth and he won't quit. I have played with him for over 15 minutes non stop and he does not wear out. The problem is that he always has to stop and poop. Sometimes he just stops and pees also and not on his pad. Any ideas on how to control this? When he stops and pees, we stop playing, but I am not sure if that is the right thing to do either. The weather here is pretty harsh and we can not go out for more than a potty break. He will do this even when I have taken him out. |
We got one for the girls, but stop using it shortly after I saw Cesar Milan about a dog that was obsess about it:(, sad that I can remember what he said about it, I think somenthing about getting the dog for walks more often sorry I can help you more:( |
I also heard the story about dogs getting obsessed with it. I only play on occasion with her, no longer than 5 minutes a day, and I don't usually pull it out very often in the week. She does get a little obsessed with it even after the 5 minutes and will stare at the spot it once was when I last placed it and wait patiently. I can just imagine how she'd act after playing with it for 15-30 minutes. Although, I do agree the excercise she gets from it is great. I wonder what would be a "safe" amount of time to play using the laser pointer? |

I'm sure it depends on the dog. Some dogs are prone to OCD, just like people. ;) I'm interested to know if anyone has a solution for the peeing. My guy does this too. We can go out for a potty break right before we play indoors, but if he gets too worked up, he'll pee. He's bold as brass about it too, he lifts his leg and everything. He seems to think he has a license to pee in this situation. |
Max used to play with it until he realized I did it..:( Now nothin'. Even my physco JRT won't play with it.:( |
