So maybe this is a dumb question... I am not quite sure exactly what the belly bands are used for. Is it so they dont mark or so they dont do the actual tinkle? We are having trouble with Houston. Bentley will ring the bell and Houston wont and we refuses to let us know when he has to go. I also think he is still marking. Especially when we travel to others homes. What do you do in that situation? |
Put a bellyband on him when you go to your friends homes. The only use I have ever found for bellybands is to protect my furniture, carpet and etc. They are useless in training andd in preventing pregnancy to a female. I put one on ceeby when he is out in the house but he still hikes his leg on things. Thinks he is soaking it and in reality, he is just peeing into his bellyband. |
so then he cant pee all over himself with it on either? |

I use poise pads on my 2 boys who can't be trusted in the house. They must be changed every few hours and I try to now keep them on continously so that they get some air. As the above poster said they need to be cleaned often |
How old is Houston, it takes some time to learn to ring the bell. You could just take him out when you take Bentley. Unneutered males will mark, and a belly band is really useful for this. I also use it on my son's dogs when he visits, even though he's been neutered he still marks my house because he visited here before I got Joey, and he thinks this is his house. But marking is different than peeing, and he will definately let us know when he wants to go outside to pee. Of course, we always remove the belly band for this. |
he is 8 months old. I always take him out when Bentley goes and Houston knows that the bell means outside. He just fails to ring it for himself no matter how much we try with him. I am thinking about trying one especially for when we take him over to family. thanks for all the help! |
I use the Poise pads too, they absorb realy quickly. Baron started marking @ our home and when we visit his brother. The belly bands are a life saver and furniture saver too!! I ordered them off of the computer. They came in different prints. When I see him lift his leg I change the pad. Then I wash his belly with a baby wipe. He gets groomed next week... Can't wait... Just wanted to add that some of Yorkietalk members make them in really cute patterns, at great prices too. Here's a list of Yorkietalk Vendors, and some of the call the wee wraps. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ore-sites.html. If you're a home sewer they would be fairly easy to make they are a little bigger than a pad, and have velcro on the ends to fasten. |
