Eatting carpet!!!!! Bentley has started eattin the carpet in out apartment..We tired the bitter apple and it didnt really help..Anyone have an suggestions on how we can get him to stop?? |
We had a problem similar to this. Ellie would find a little snag of carpet and turn it into a big one. We ended up using pepper and it worked. It was the only thing that did. But if it was just random spots she focused on I'm not sure what we would have done. Good luck. |
My yorkie did the same thing to our rug.. we just ended up giving it away cause I was scared she would swallow them and they'd get tied up in her intestines.. when I worked at a vet clinic.. they brought a dog in that had died from eating thongs... so Im always scared about what she eats. |

We have the same problem at our house....lucky one is under the couch (heaven help us when we move)....we will have to try the pepper (you mean black pepper right?) Now I just hope ants done want to come in and eat that :P Glad to know im not the only one though :) |
Piper just got busted doing this tonight. We had a problem with him pulling on a snag and chewing up the carpet right after we brought him home and I thought he was over it but just about 2 hours ago I busted him with carpet fibers everywhere and the snag has grown again. He went running into his crate when I said his name so he knows it's wrong...just hope he'll let it be again until we move in 4 days!! :D |
use solid deodorant. We were on vacation and Tucker started in with the area rug. I freaked, because it wasn't our house and he loves the taste of bitter apple. Then I remembered someone on here suggested using deordorant, and it worked like a charm! Just rub it where he chews and he'll leave it alone. |
To be honest with you my carpet is no good any more! Someday hope to be rich and change it towood floors! ! Ha O the joys of having a yorkie! ! Ha Got to love them! lily |

I would try cayenne pepper the hotter the better. I've used this before and it worked. Hope this helps. Good Luck |

I read on here that this works too but haven't tried it because Piper will lick my armpit deodorant off of me if I let him...freaky, I know. So maybe I'll just try the hot stuff :D |
