Road Trip! Bridget and I are off on our first road trip together tomorrow morning! We're driving 12 hours (whew!) from California to Utah. Bridget does great in the car and I think she'll be okay. She has her new car seat and I've packed a laundry basket and a bag full of stuff for the trip. I think I've packed more for her than for me! We plan to take our time and make lots of stops to potty and stretch our legs. Anyone else out there taken a road trip of this length with some tips to share? Wish us luck... we'll post pics when we get back! BTW... from my post this morning - Bridget is back to her spunky self. I think she was just tired from all the playing and needed mom to leave her alone and let her rest and catch up! Thanks to everyone for the helpful replies! :) |
Im glad that Bridget is feeling better after her rest. I haven't have a road trip that long but In January we drove to Atlantic City, it was like a 5 hr trip, and Gucci slept the whole time. Have a safe and fun trip. |
We go on mini roadtrips quite a bit....only 2 hours though...Gracie likes it...It is 2 hours where she gets to snuggle me...Stopping alot will be good...but these little guys sleep alot during the day so she will be just fine...maybe have her run around at the stops etc...Good Luck tommorow!!! |

Tatia have sooo much fun on your road trip. I get the feeling Bridget was as tired as Coco. I also posted this morning about Coco being all weird and tired all day and all night. But I was assured that it was because she was pooped. |
We took Rowdy on a 3600 mile road trip this summer. He actually slept most of the way. We just returned yesterday from a 1600 mile trip. We were on the road for about 24 hours going and returning. Rowdy's MO is to play for a bout 5-10 minutes and then pass out. When he wakes up and starts walking around, it means he needs to go potty. He drinks and eats very little while on the road - I always worry about him. About the only thing I could get him to eat on this last trip was the canadian bacon and a little egg from an egg mcmuffin and some hamburger from a plain mcD's hamburger. He just would not eat his kibbles. I also carry gerber's toddler chicken weenies - he will usually eat one of them. Oh well, we are home now. The best advice I have is to keep a close eye on your baby when you stop and let him/her out to potty. The grass in most places in very littered with cigarette butts, trash, tobacco, old food, etc. Rowdy wants to sniff everything, and fortunately is not prone to pick things up, but he could get into some nasty stuff if I don't watch. |
We drove 10 hours to where we went camping in July and then back. We had their carseat and Chai didn't get sick until 5 minutes before we arrived! Go figure!! What a sense of timig she has! |
