Whar changes did you have to make when you got your yorkie? I was thinking the other day about the things that have changed in my house since getting Twinkle. Before we brought her home I spent a lot of time explaining to my eldest daughter the importance of not leaving toys lying around for the puppy to chew on. After lots of reminders, and following the loss of Swan Lake Barbie's tutu, tiara, and left hand (victims of a Twinkle-related chewing incident), she now NEVER leaves toys on the floor. Another problem solved by Twinkle's arrival is my husband's annoying habit of leaving his plate on the floor beside the sofa when he's finished his dinner:rolleyes: These are both changes for the better, because I have a much tidier house!:D) I just wonder what changes (if any) you had to make when you first got your yorkies? xxx xxx |
No running in the house! Well that was always a rule, but it was often disobeyed. My kids understand the importance of not running around Missy. I don't want anyone stepping or falling on her. The kids have also had to be better about picking up their toys. So good actually, that Missy hasn't wrecked anything yet. :p |
To me it was like bringing home a new baby, All the things we had to learn, playpens, gates, toys all over, potty training, Making sure the grand-kids did'nt leave their toys around, Finally finding a food he likes. walks, doctor visits. But would do it all over. We love Romeo so much. couldn't imagine him not in our lives. |
It was really like having a toddler. We had to make sure nothing is left out that she could eat. I also come home every day at lunch time to let her out. If I can't, I have someone else do it, or I make a special place for her in case she can't "hold it".:p When we go on vacation we make sure that we go to pet friendly places. |

Sleeping with two yorkies in the bed a lot less sleep:D My husband never allowed dogs in the bed until we got them and now there is no way they are leaving. |
Well lets see...I fold my laundry immediately because walker steals the nice clean stuff and plays with it. I sweep and mop the floors alot more since i have tiny dirty feet run around on it. Shoes are kept in a laundry basket by the door. So Walker made me stop procrastinating when it comes to housework. haha. Not necessarily a bad thing:) |
We sweep/mop and vacuum daily---they are such messy monsters! Husband has gotten better about getting up and throwing things away, no laying chip bags, popsicle wrappers, etc. on the coffee table to throw away "later", We also only allow the bathroom trash to get 1/2 full before taking it out, someone likes to snatch things from the top. I am still working on remembering to close doors to unoccupied rooms. Cooper has jumped on the guest bed and used it for TP, resulting in several loads of laundry too many times to mention . I think the addition of each one has made me more of a hermit (hate to leave them), and more compassionate and patient with everyone. I cry over every case of a dog being abused, or someone's dog dying. I used to laugh at the "dog people" and now...voila...I GET IT! |
I think after we got Pao, we stay home a lot more and cook at home a lot more. Since I cook for him, I might as well cook for myself and hubby. Not a bad thing coz its more healthy food that we eat now. Vacum the house a lot more just coz I want it to be cleaner for him coz he is so low to the ground. We also make/buy a lot more pillows/throw pillows/cushions so that he can have more place to lounge/jump on. |
