Update
 

Well I have good news, my little angel is looking alot better then she was yesterday. She still has alot more to over come but I think that she is a very strong fighter and doing so good. I went and visited her today and she was SO happy and excited to see me she couldn't stay off of me. I helped my mom clean her up a bit, feed her and give her her meds. I took some pictures I will post after to show everyone. I was so happy to see her, I brought over a sweater of mine, her blanky and a toy. She snuggled right in my sweater and fell asleep. We were all suprised but she was up and walking around the kitchen and trying to eat food, but she just can't do it yet. We will try to give her some food on Saturday if she is still doing good. Her face was looking MUCH better then yesterday, the creme my mom is using is working so well. My mom is spoiling her so much too, she made her a little bed, and shes changing the sheets twice daily so she has fresh new bed to lay in. She really enjoyed getting cleaned up today too, you can tell it's starting to itch alittle because she was trying to scratch. I think the prayers are working, thanks so much. Tomorrow I will update again, we are going to the vet to see how she's doing. Hopefully he is satisfied because so far I am. She started to get a bad infection in her mouth yesterday and it progressed so quickly that by the time we went to the vets you could not bare to be close too close to her because the smell was just foul. Today theres no smell at all!! Just a little little bit but nothing compared to yesterday and her mouth is starting to get pink also!!

I missed the original post, so I'm not sure what happened, but I'm so happy to see that she's doing better. How wonderful of your mom to take such good care of her. :)

I am glad to see that Stormy is doing better. When praises go up blessings come down!!!:) Keep us updated!

Stormy had accidently got Nair hair removal onto her face and had licked some off her nose and into her mouth, which had turned into a very bad infection in her mouth, she was not eating and drinking on her own and was very very sick and weak.


I just spoke with my mother this morning and she is doing ALOT better now, she is a bit depressed because she is not home but I will be going over shortly to visit with her and bring her in for a checkup, I think the doctor will be VERY suprised as he thought she was not going to make it past two days and was insisiting we put her down. I am so proud of my baby girl and thank you all for your prayers, I know she still has alot to over come but so far she is doing so so well and I can't be more proud of my little angel. This is truly a miracle that she is pulling through this. If we had not brought her into the vet when we did the vet said she would have died that night or next day possibly. I will update when I return from the vet this afternoon. Thanks again to everyone! I am attaching some photos from yesterdays visit. This is after she was cleaned so don't mind the wet sticky looking baby! She looks very tired because after she gets her medicine it makes her very tired and sleepy.

I brought over one of my sweaters that I was wearing the day we brought her into the vet so she could have my scent with her, and of course her little toy bone from home to make her feel a little more comfortable.

Just thought I would update how the vet appt went today since I just got in and it went AWSOME! I go to an animal hospital that is open 24/7, it is the closest to my house and they have a couple different vets there. They do walk-ins for check ups and that sort of stuff so today we had a different vet that did not see Stormy. He looked at her and said that she looks alright and since he said he didn't see her two days ago and from what he read in her file that she looks like she is doing wonderful and healing very nicely. So very good news to hear we will not have to be putting her down * fingers crossed *. Her tongue has healed completely and her face today looks fantasic. Her lips are a little bit rough looking still, a little scabby but so much better then they did. She is actually opening her mouth up now and the best part is, the vet offered her some food, I believe it was a/b or something like that, well he added water to it and offered her some and she ate!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D She couldn't really eat too well or too much but she actually licked it and tried it and she loved it!! I was almost in tears. Shes been on just a liquid diet but now he wants us to start her on some baby food and watered down canned food, he also wants us to still syringe but give her some in a bowl. So when we got back to my moms house we put some out for her and she kept having a few licks and walking around. She seems to have alot more engery now also. My mom says all she does is lay around and sleep but when I arrived and she heard my brother say my name before she even seen me she jumped right up and greeted me. She would not lay down and was following me around wagging her stumpy!! She is doing so good and the great news is that I will be bringing her home probably Sunday or Monday. I am so excited to have my baby girl home!! :p Before I left for home we gave her all her meds and syringed her some food, she was actually biting the syringe with her teeth and swallowing so good, she was fighting it the last few days but now she knew and she was sucking it like a baby, I will get a picture of it tomorrow it was so adorable!! I am so proud of her shes doing so great and looking so good too. Thank you again for your prayers, the vet said this is a miracle!!!! :)
oh and how could I almost forget, when I got to my moms today to see her and she was greeting me I got my very first kiss from her!!!!:love::love: She can't stick her tongue out all the way yet but she did the best she could!

YAY STORMY!!! what a story (just read it all right now) so glad she is going to pull through! She is a fighter and SO lucky to have a mom and grandma who care for her like you both have. We will be praying for her continued recovery! It always warms my heart when you hear that you didn't take the vet's advice to put her down but chose to love her back to health and it worked :D

thanks so much, I am so happy also, I broke down in tears and was balling like a baby when he suggested it, she looked so hopeless and hurting but I just COULD NOT do it, he was even leaning towards doing it that night so she didn't suffer but I had told him I needed a few mins to think and I called my mom and discussed it with her and my fiance and I both talked and thats when my mom rushed over to the vet and we said NO we will take her home and try our best for her and thank the Lord that it is working! I just talked to my mom again on the phone and my poor baby girl sits by the door waiting for me when I live but she has finally opened up to my mom a bit and is hanging out on the couch right now also!! and it is so funny but she is feeling better and walking around the house, she is even going over and stealing kibble from my moms boxer and taking it over to her bed and hiding it under her blanket, she is so silly!! I can't wait to visit again tomorrow and bring her home Sunday!! :p:p

Also just wanted to add because I almost forgot but I had been concerned lately about Stormy's rib cage. One side feels normal like it should but one side felt strange to me. After pointing this out to the vet today he checked her out and came to the conclusion that she must have had the side that that felt strange broken that was not taken care of and did not heal correctly. It is what it is now and nothing we can do about it now. This was horrible to hear that my poor baby was hurt and not taken care of. I noticed this because the day we brought her in she was breathing very heavily since her nose was stuffed with fluid and when she would breathe in and out the one side you could feel and hear it would feel like a clicking sound. You can really notice when you feel it, the ribs did not fuse back together. The vet said that it is possible she was born this way but from the feel of it that isn't the case, it just feels like they were broken some how and never fixed. Just thought I'd share this information, my poor baby has went through SO much in her short life so far!

But now she has you. And the rest of her life to live with love surrounding her. Hugs to you and Stormy. You're an awesome mommy.

I am soooo happy to hear this wonderful update! I have been waiting, and hoping for good news. Stormy looks so loved and well-taken care of. It's great that your mom could do this for you, and even better that she will be home with HER mom soon.

thank you thank you!! :love::love: I am so grateful for my mom doing this for me!! I know Stormy wouldn't of been able to rest too much here, she just can't get enough of me and would not lay down and rest. She has my mom taking care of her around the clock, my poor mom said she couldn't sleep the first night because she was checking on her so much! My mommy definitely getting a VERY nice gift for doing this for me. I have been thinking of what I can get her to thank her for all the work she is doing, she hasn't left the house since Stormy has been there!! I think all the wonderful thoughts and prayers have worked!! I have been praying to God to make my baby all better and now I really really do believe in miracles!

i am glad your mom can take care of stormy for you. maybe you can make your mom a collage of stormy with a nice message on it. maybe something like "thank you for taking such good care of me what i was feeling bad" i think that would be a nice gift for your mom. :D

I'm so happy little stormy is pulling through and doing wonderfully!

I am just about to call my mom and see but I was over for a few hours yesterday and she was doing so amazing. She opening her mouth fully now, the inside looks so good. She just has a little bit of scabs on the one side of her face near her lips but the skin where the hair is missing is looking so good also! She is breathing great now too, her nose is not stuffy anymore and she is eating with the syringe awsome, she knows when its time to eat and she will hold the syringe with her teeth and suck like a baby, it is so sweet. lol She is also now getting up by herself at night and eating on her own. Still a little bit hard but I am thinking that another day or two and she will be home. My mom says she is ver sad when I am not there but when I am over she is her normal self!!! The vet was so amazed also, I believe this is a real miracle my baby is pulling through so good and so fast. When I was leaving my little brother didn't close the door fast enough and she got out and he was chasing her around the yard and could not catch her for nothing. She ran up to my car and wanted to come, I had to bring her back in, we just got our first snow last night and she didn't even care about the snow she just wanted to be home. Soon enough though. Stormy and my moms boxer have now become such good friends too, it is wonderful now because she was very scared of people when we brought her home, now if I am around she is amazing with EVERYONE, she has become so much more trusting towards people. And I really do believe now that this little girl went through ALOT having her ribs broken and I now also think that her leg must of been broken also ontop of the LP she has in that leg. Shes a strong fighter and she is getting SOOOOO spoiled for Christmas too. And also along with the idea you gave me I had brought over a cataloge yesterday and my mom picked out some really nice gold and diamond earrings that I am going to get her too for Christmas :D I am so glad Stormy is feeling good over at my moms because my fiance and I are planning on going away in Feb to get married so now I know she will be okay at my moms for the week we're away! :p

Oh my poor little Stormy has had a stormy start, but it sounds like things are going to look up from here on out! I could just cry reading about all she's been through.

Stormy is home!! :):):):) She's eating on her own and drinking on her own. She is full of life once again also and she was SO happy to be home she ran around the whole house and then got on the couch and laid down to bed belly up! lol it was so adorable I am so happy to have her home.

I like to think that I rescued her as I am not too sure of the situation she came from. From what I know is that this little girl has went through alot. I was lied to at first about her medical health, she has LP. She was bought from a puppy mill ( that is what I would call it because the way the lady who owns the parents of Stormy sounded just like a puppy mill ) and she was bought to be bred. When Stormy was sold to her previous owner. A so called "breeder" she was sold as PET ONLY but the lady wanted to breed her and from my knowledge they tried to breed her but she was not interested in being bred and it never worked out this is how I ended up with her because the woman said she could not breed her because she was too small. I don't believe this woman to be a breeder because she has had afew different types of puppies and doesn't own any of the parents, she could be a broker but she denies it. I am glad this lady is out of my life, she may of "loved" Stormy but I know for a fact this dog went threw alot. My vet has looked over her and said that she has had her ribs broken and it was not taken care of because they were not fused back correctly, her one side of ribs feel very strange almost broken but they are okay and we can't do anything to fix this, this may of happen when she was much younger. I also now believe her leg could have also been broken too on top of the LP. On top of this Stormy was VERY scared of people, she was not trusting at all and the previous owner told me this is the way she has always behaved towards people. she has especially been scared of men. But now she has changed completely she has opened up to people so much and is not scared as much as she used to be, she has become alot more trusting and is getting better and better each day. She is totally spoiled here and I love her so much. This is pretty much her story and I feel like I rescued her :)
