It is official! I have a PORKY YORKIE I weighed Skeeter this morning and he weighs a whoppin 6.8 pounds! This is a little guy who comes from 4.5 pound parents! We have been calling him tubby lately and he could stand to lose a pound but how on earth we will do that I don't know. He is a little vacuum cleaner when it comes to food. He cleans up after all the other dogs before we know it. Adie on the other hand is a compact 5 pounds and is perfectly proportioned. She is a picky eater though and frequently leaves her food alone. So my little Hoover machine can get it. Cassie, the shih tzu is a lot like Adie and will refuse to eat sometimes. We have a little trouble keeping her weight up. My son and his family were here for Thanksgiving and he commented on Skeeter's weight. He picked him up and said "Dang! he could feed a family of 4!" I thought I would die laughing! So now my son calls him his little pot roast. I had to check their bags before they left so he wouldn't stick Skeeter in one of them. How was your Thanksgiving? |

The thing with Skeeter though...is that he isn't any taller or longer than Adie and to weigh 1.8 lbs more than her! Wow! |
Big Gulp Okay I got my baby in February and she weighed 4 lbs. She is going to be a year on 12/18 and she weighs 12 1/2 pounds. Yep, she's a big gulp. But she is not fat. (Yeah I know, I know typical...."I'm not fat, I'm big boned"). She is longer than most Yorkies. My husband thought she was going to be like a bag of sugar. I just told him, "Well, double the pleasure, double the fun". So, your baby is not that big at all. |
LOL, that's nothing. Try 13 and 10 lbs! ;) |
My Marty is definitely a porky yorkie too! He has a little belly. I used to free feed, but now that we have Madeline, he likes to eat much more than he used to. I think he was afraid he wouldn't get enough and he wanted to beat her to it--even though the bowl was never empty. We feed them twice a day now and watch them carefully to make sure he doesn't try to sneak any of hers. Hopefully, it will help him get back to his normal weight. |
If you look at Skeeter from overhead he looks like a football! I guess I know where he is storing his food for the winter! But he has really narrow hips too. Is that common in male dogs? And by the way...... He's not fat he's FLUFFY! |
