What if... ..I go to her when shes barking to take her out? Is that still a no-no if I know its time for her to try to poop?? (IM crate training her and today is day 1) |
I'd have to say - if you gotta go - you gotta go - OUT PLEASE ! :) Good luck on the training ! |
Thanks!! She actually did poopie when I took her out! So far, so good this crate is making a difference at least already! haha |
I would agree, that if she is barking to go potty, you need to let her out. When you do, and she does not go, you need to put her directly back in the crate and take her out in another 10 minutes (barking or no). You need to keep that up, until she goes and then you can keep her out for play time, only after she has done her business. |
That is how I knew Gracie had to go potty...the only time she cries in her crate is when shes gotta go..The one thing my vet told me with crate training is if they don't go right away when you take them out of the crate is to put them back in immediatly dont let them play...Good Luck |
Thanks ladies. Im not really suer thats why she was doing it -- as she is barking now and im upstairs and its not due for her to do anything again. I think this is where she is *testing* me to come to her, as when Im down there around her she is fine and sleeping and resting in the crate. |
oh, I also wanted to add so yall know, she's not a pup, but an almost 4 yr. old Yorkie that was rescued from a puppymill-she was used only for breeding. |
