Weird Sound Came From Within The Night This has happened already twice that I know of, which has woke me from my sleep. The other night I got up to see what was wrong with my little guy, and he was okay. Then it happened last night or the other night again, I forgot. It sounds like a loud sound like "Woooooooooo" coming from him. He's not a hound and it isn't that sound. I thought maybe he was having bad doggie dreams at first. He was awake when this happened the last time, I noticed. Today, someone I asked told me that if they heard a siren, EMS, etc, it bothers their ears. It doesn't bother his ears when we are out seeing the EMS, fire trucks, etc. Anyways, he is like imitating a siren noise. Anyone else experience this with their dogs or heard other dogs doing this~? |
We had a black German shepherd when I was young and my oldest brother taught him to howl when he heard sirens. And I kid you not he would climb our fence perch on it like a rooster and howl .( we still have NO IDEA how he figured out how to do that ) ..Even if we couldn't hear the siren yet , we knew there was one close by...My mom could have strangled him for teaching Buckwheat that!! So could the neighbors:D It took her atleast a 6 mo. or so to get him to kinda break the habit , he would still howl but only if outside and only once in a while ....if he forgot he wasn't suppose to. He may be hearing something that you aren't or maybe he just likes to make that noise:) |
I think some dogs just tend to howl... who knows why. My friends chihuahua will howl (so cute!) but only when she howls to her first. I wanted to teach my baby how to, but ehh maybe I wouldn't want to hear that all the time. lol. I'm not sure why your baby would be, maybe he really is imitating the sound. :) |
may labs will here a siren or a train (way far off) and start to howl and then the yorkies start to bark but their bark is extended sort of like a howl. |
My shih tzu howls in her sleep. She sounds like a ghost haunting the place. I mean it is really loud! Usually she is a quiet and timid little thing but she must be one bad a$$ in her dreams! :D |
I could kick myself...when Maya first came home as a baby she would make a sound just like a mackaw if I left her alone in a room. It was unbelieveable, and I should have recorded it somehow. Now that she is a big girl, she no longer does it. |
Ella Bean makes chirping noises in her sleep. Its so cute, starts out like a little clucking and escalates to the chirp. This is a new thing - she is about a year old. They are all different!!:rolleyes: |
Cassie, the shih tzu, also barks in her sleep but she does it with her mouth closed. It is so stinkin cute! We will turn the tv down just so we can listen to her and watch her twitching. LOL Both of my yorkies make little grunting noises sometimes. |
Walker howls occasionally, but its so dorky sounding. Its like an extended low pitched bark. not very manly or intimidating:rolleyes: Generally he does it when he's running around like crazy and catches his toy. Its his version of a triumphant yell:) |
Once in awhile, Jake will wake up from a sound sleep and howl. Doesn't happen often, but when it does it's pretty cute. |
