OMG she hates the snow! We got a light covering of wet snow last night. This is her first time seeing snow since she is only 8 months old. She will not go out and potty in it. The fenced area is right outside the back door of our garage, so when we go out to the garage to let her outside she hides under the car and goes! I tried to carry her out and set her down but she leans against the door and whines. Anybody else been through this and have some tips? She's never used potty pads because Im home with her and my doxie shreds them up and drags them around when I tried. Im afriad if I don't keep her in her xpen a lot today that we will have a bunch of accidents in the house. |
We got that wet snow last night too and...just my luck...my babies love it! They run around like little fools when I let them out, come in covered with snowballs and I put their blanket at the door so they can roll around and dry off when they come in. Did you shovel a place for your baby to walk and potty in? We did that when they were puppies, actually, my husband used the snow blower on the front deck for them. Also, you might try the washable potty pads if you find you need to train them to the inside for winter. My girls were shredding the disposable pads but we have no trouble with the washable ones. Did you go out with your baby? Sometimes that helps. |

I bought washable pads at the medical supply store but you can also find them on eBay. Maybe buy a couple at the store and if she'll use them, and if you like the idea, buy them in bulk on eBay. I don't buy the reclaimed or used ones...I only buy new pads. The washable pads don't make the crinkle sound like the disposable pads do...lots of toys make that noise too and I think that's why some dogs shred the pad...it's like a toy to them. |
I have one that wont go out in the snow and rain and I had to pad train her |
