When do YTs reach adult size? :aimeeyork Hi, everyone - just wondering if anyone out there can tell me at roughly what age yorkies attain adult size? Several people have told me around 6 months (and Lucy's just shy of 6 months and round 3.5 - 4 pounds). I know that there's no guarantee of anything with our wonderful furkids - but I'd just like to know. |
milu stayed at 2.6lbs for about 2 months when she was 6-8months old. then she had another growth spurt and she is now 3.15lbs and 9months old. i think maybe smaller yorkies can get another growth spurt later on, whereas larger yorkies are done growing earlier on and reaches full size when they are 6 months old. |
I'd guess around 8 to 12 months, but I'll defer the answer to the experts. Here's a weight/growth chart from the YT FAQs. Yorkshire Terrier - Yorkie Puppy Growth/Weight Chart - watch us grow Based on the chart, Lucy will be 4.5 to 5 lbs full grown. |
Lillie stopped growing around 9 - 12 months...she did put on another lb though. She weighs 4 1/2 lbs...shes not very big. |
 Thanks, guys - I know this is not an exact science, but just wanted some idea of how big Lucy might get. The weight chart was quite useful, thanks. Anyway, regardless of her weight, she's a HUGE personality! |
Usually 6 months they grow to their stature. After that they gain a bit more in muscle and continue to fill out until around a year. |
