I didn't think she was gonna give her back!...lol I went into town with my son this afternoon and we took Pixie with us..my son wanted to go into a particular shop which I knew sold some food items so I stayed in the doorway holding Pixie while my son went inside...Well..a lady working there spotted her and came running towards me! she kinda shocked me a little because she was so forward..lol...she let me come inside the shop to get out of the cold, she was very nice and asked if she could hold Pixie..I don't normally let anyone hold her..but this lady did seem lovely and she told me she had a chi/yorkie and 2 other dogs...she just TOTALLY fell in love with Pixie and was just cuddling her and smothering her in kisses! I did find her a bit overpowering..lol..but you could tell she was a dog lover through and through..she just seemed so fascinated with Pixie...anyone else get this sort of reaction?...i'm used to people looking at her and stopping me to ask about her but she just kind of threw me a bit! i'm much more shy and retiring!:p |
People, love the Yorkie breed, and Yes, every time I have my Suzi with me, people say to me, they want a dog just like her ! I tend to hold onto her more tighter at those times. LOL. It makes me nervous , because just last week suzi got away from me, and people would not let her go back to me, so my feelings are, you never can be too careful, and it is better to lean on the safer overprotective side then allowing others to get too close. dog lovers though, are just that, they can't help themselves ;) |
You're braver than me... I won't let anyone pick my girls up. Gypsy is a wiggler and I worry someone would drop her. Kayla loves to wrap her paws round peoples neck and snuzzle and someone probably wouldn't want to give her back.... hmmm, maybe not a bad thing, she does pee everywhere. Hehehe. |

OH boy yeah...whenever I take Daizy and now Tulip anywhere with me...I have people come up and ask to hold or pet them... People can't help but be attracted to cute tiny little ones....usually wearing clothes and/or bows.... I remember when I first got Daizy (she was all dressed up with a big bow in her hair..) I was waiting outside for my daughter to come out of a store..and a policeman drove up and stopped just laughing at Daizy...and said she was absolutely the cutest thing he's ever seen!! When he drove away he was still laughing..that was a fun experience....now if she can only get me out of any future tickets..that would be nice.. I'm pretty trusting with people so I do tend to let them hold my girls but I live in a smaller town in Montana...so you just have to use your best judgement....because people do know how expensive these babies can be!!! |

I live in a very small town in Oxfordshire (also my hubby is one of the town councillors)..so I do feel safe;)..I'm not really concerned with someone trying to steal her here..my main worries are if she was accidentally dropped..but this lady handled her very well..you could tell she has little dogs of her own..so I didn't feel too alarmed..she just surprised me because she made such a fuss! was a little embarrassing for someone like myself who prefers to blend into the background..lol:p |
I to get a strange feeling when some people make a strange comments about cookie. Like the other day a young man saw me out with cookie and made a remark that he was looking for a yorkie to buy but they did not have any to sell in the city of chattanooga needless to say I can't belive that. He hung around so I picked cookie up and went back inside. |
ugh, well thank goodness your baby is safe and you got her back! ;) i will never forget the time i was at the airport bringing gino back from seattle...the american airlines people were just oohinh and aahing over him and i had him sitting up on the counter while i was checking in...one of the people said, "ooooh can i show him to a girl in the back?" and scooped him up and carried him off before i could say no!!! the nerve!!! i was sweating bullets until he brought gino back to me...some people can be soooo inconsiderate and rude  |
yeah I know this has been discussed a hundred times before on here but people do treat them like public property! I know most people mean well and just want to say hello..its just how to deal with the overzealous ones! it can be a bit overwhelming especially when minding ones own buisness while out shopping!:p |
