Ugh...in-laws! (sorry, it's long...) Currently we are living with my father-in-law and his fiancee while we wait for our house to be done (we are completely renovating it). Not an ideal situation at all! A few months ago Tucker had a bout with pancreatitis or gastritis (still unclear about his diagnosis) that cost us $300. My husband and I both knew that we had not fed Tucker anything out of the ordinary and my in-laws SWORE up and down (tears and everything) that they had not given him anything either though they had had a big ham dinner the night before Tucker got seriously sick. Much drama ensued but finally we dropped it because they were so convincing. Well...my father-in-law's fiancee is babysitting her daughter's chihuaha this weekend and my father-in-law was just cooking some ham. She kept saying to the chi, "Ooh, Michael's going to share that with you!" I finally spoke up and said, "Ham is not good for dogs at all." To which she replied, "Oh, he eats it all the time." I simply replied, "Well, pork products are really bad for dogs but if he eats it all the time and he's fine with it, do whatever you want." She didn't end up giving it to him, thank goodness. So after all that, you tell me, do you believe them that they didn't give Tucker some ham the night before he got super sick, costing me $300 and my baby's health? Didn't think so... Sorry, I just had to vent! |
UGH! I would be TICKED too! You know they gave him ham the night before! I am so sorry! :( |
I wouldn't trust my dog around them.... I'd seriously consider doggie daycare when you can't be around... if you can afford it. |

I sooo know how you feel. My Husband's Mother lives with us and she is always giving all the dogs stuff they shouldn't be having. I literally have to keep the vet on speed dial and a few cans of pumpkin in the cupborad. |

I feel for you. My husband and I are living with my parents, and before we moved in they had to watch Duke for me for 4 months while we were in Texas, when I came back Duke was a total mess and I had a hefty vet bill I had to pay because of it. I was furious, and am never either of my babies with them again. And they did the same thing, denied it was their fault, my mom played the blame game saying it was my dad..And I believed her at first too until I caught her lying to me about some other stuff with my dogs. It's so annoying when people can't listen to us about our dogs, they wouldn't act like that if it was a person and you told them they were allergic to peanuts or something. |
OH I FEEL YOUR PAIN. My ex-husband and I lived with his parents and they were horrible with my dogs and worse horrible TOO my dogs. They always talked about their Shih Tzu who had passed and were always saying how he NEVER had accidents and how perfect he was and my ex-MIL actually said to me that she didn't like the way I was raising my dogs...UGH :mad::mad::mad: Now you know why they are all EXES!!!!!! |

Oh my gosh. I totally understand this! Last night, we were giving Maggie her pain medication and the only way she will take it is with a little bit of peanut butter. Well a little is fine but my mom kept giving her more, and then of course Franklin HAD to have some. So I said whatever... then we left the room and I saw my step dad give her more and he completely lied and said he didn't which ticked me off SO MUCH. I told mom if they didn't stop that I would never bring them over there again. I also told her that peanut butter is extremely fatty and that they could get seriously sick, and if they got sick, SHE was going to pay the expensive vet bill. I drove home FUMING. We are supposed to stay there tonight and I am so hesitant.. |
I totally understand! |
