Our little escape artist 1 Attachment(s) My bf and I got home from dinner tonight, expecting to see Ella looking at us excitedly from her x-pen. But instead of being in her locked pen, Ella greeted me at the door  I know that her older sister is quite the climber, but we didn't think we'd have to worry about that for a while--Ella is only 6 months old (today!). Thankfully, she didn't leave us any messes (that we've found). So, I guess I'll be looking for a taller x-pen. Or at least one that isn't so easy to climb. |

Once we go to my boyfriends house she slips right through the bars of the baby gate. Maybe once she's full grown she won't be able to get through and there will be no more stuffing the wider bars with pillows! But... they always seem to outsmart us. Think like them! Only better! LOL good luck on the xpen search! |
One week after we'd gotten Hot Rod, I went Christmas shopping at the outlets only 2 mins from home for about 2 hours. I thought everything was safe and sound until I came home and was greeted by an extremely happy and excited pup! I couldn't believe it! He'd gotten out of his crate! He was as happy and excited as could be. We never figure out how he did it and he never did it again (thank goodness). When we got Maggie, I would find her all over the house! Upstairs, in the office and dining room. lol. She was getting through the center of the baby gate AND jumping off the back of the sofa!:eek: They are amazing. :) |

For just such an occassion I have never thrown away the box my gate came in. Google this "Clear Choice Gate". They are escape proof. Go ahead and get the taller one, because Maya can now jump as high as the gate, and if she grows any more she is going to figure out up and over pretty soon. When you put it in the door frame, put the lock bar on YOUR side, or else they might figure out how to use it for a foothold. But on their side the is NOTHING they can use to climb out with, trust me. |

Remy learned to climb out of his ex-pen at around 7 or 8 months old. After coming home numerous times to find him running around (haha) instead of snoozing in his playpen, one night I placed him in the pen while I was at home so I could see how he did it. He literally just scaled right over top of it like a little spider and came running over to me so proud of himself. Luckily, by this point he was pee-pad trained and he was never a big chewer so I just started leaving him out while I was gone. He has done fine they are such little smarty pants and they are so cute that no matter what they do, we just cannot be mad at them haha:D |
