I think it worked!! I asked a question about my baby eating her poop. I got a suggestion about feeding her pineapple. Well yesterday I fed her some crushed pineapple from a can and low and behold this morning there was poop in her crate when I woke up. I hope I'm not jumping the gun but I think it worked!! I was using "potty mouth" but it just didn't seem to work. She just hated the pill so I had to break it up. This pineapple idea is just great, cheaper and much easier. My other 2 babies had to see what to fuss was, they began to eat some of the pineapple too. I was surprised they really liked it. I only gave them a couple of tablespoons in a bowl. Yeah, poop eating...ICK! My Ella Bean poops and runs away, while my Cavalier thinks his poop is some exotic delicacy! My Cavalier has some digestive issues and the reason I believe he is attracted to his poo, while my lil girl isn't, is because of the undigested food he smells in it...When his tummy is good, he is MUCH less inclined to eat poop. It may be worth it to make sure your baby's GI tract is healthy and add some probiotics and enzymes to aid in digestion... Another good product is Solid Gold SEP (Stop Eating Poop)...its powdered so you just mix it in their food... Either way, glad your baby didn't eat her poo this time! LOL!!!!!! |
I just thought I would share another great tip I learned... use cornstarch on their mats- it works also I am going to try to use only distilled water to helpo with runny eyes |
Make sure you give her the pineapple(she only needs a couple little pieces a day) for at least 4 days straight. My sister tried the distilled water on her maltese(she used it for years), it really didn't help at all..but, the water itself may be better for them..? |
I finally got Krissy to eat pineapple. I have found poop on her pads twice. There are times she still seems interested in eating it. At first she wouldn't eat the pineapple but now she does. I bought a container fromt eh store of fresh cut up pinepple and cut it into little pieces and froze it and giver her a few pieces three times a day. I may have to give the powder stuff a try. We did switch foods from Royal Canine to Natural Balance but are still int eh early stages of mixing. |
Lily wouldn't eat the canned pineapple but I might try it again. She doesn't eat her poop most of the time but sometimes she will "play with it" more than actually eat it I think is what she does ... everything is a game with her!!lol I have to chase her with it and that is pretty gross too!! She is 8 months old and she gets better everyday I think with everything in general so maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel and she is going to grow out of alot of her "bad habits"?? It is a good thing she is "CUTE"!!LOL |

thats a good idea for dogs eating their own poop... but i have a different problem. lexi likes to eat my ferrets poop.. and since ferrets have sensitive tummys do yall think it would be safe to give my ferret pineapple? |
