I need help!!! I took my baby to get her first haircut yesterday and the people told me it would take about 2 hours to do it because it was the first time. Well they called me 30 minutes after I dropped her off and said she wasn't cooperating and they wanted me to come stand with her to see if she would calm down. So I went there and she didn't calm down at all, she was terrified! Ass soon as they turned the clippers on she would just start flippin out & dancing on the table. So the man couldn't finish her hair, her back is so short but her face is long...she's looks like a lion & I hate it. What should I do? Should I let it grow some or take her somewhere else? If I take her somewhere else I'm scared the same thing will happen...:cry: |
I would try doing it yourself- i do. Layla HATED it there and i hated what it did to her little personality. |
so sorry that happened. I think she needs to get used to the bush and the clippers.. it almost sounds like a groomer who didn't know what how to calm a puppy... I would find a groomer that can help with it |
i am sorry that you had a bad experience. your baby is scared of the clipper. most are. you can try to practice some at home with her. show her the clipper, let her sniff it and touch it (make sure she can not be hurt by it) give her treats. you need to do this slowly and be patient. once she is used to seeing the clipper and is not afraid of it. you can turn the clipper on for a little bit, turn if off. and give her a treat. repeat a couple of times. and gradually increase the time you have the clipper turn on. hope this helps.:) |
Try at home, I do all my girls, at first is not going to be perfect but you will learn, is not that hard, less stress for them at home:aimeeyork |
Brady who is 7 months does the whole wiggling, yelping, you name it! I just snipped his hair tonight. Had DH stand beside him and give him praises and treats while I razored him. He didn't pay me any attention...as long as there was treats being given to him. I really didn't mess with his head hair too much, nor his legs. Next time, I will do a little more until he is used to it. I still haven't mastered the pads..Either I am too scared or they are too wiggly. |
I do both mine at home as well. Marci's WONDERFUL grooming videos helped me, and I love doing it. Both of mine don't mind, and usually look pretty good! |
