RE: Other Dogs My uncle has a Dogue De Bordouex. It is a huge dog that resembles a Bull Mastiff. At almost 7 years old, they found the poor dog listless on the floor and a couple of hours later, dead. My little 9 month old puppy, Bella, was around Mojo (their dog) a week ago (the exact day the vet cleared Mojo as having GREAT health). My question to you is, should I have Bella checked out because they do not know or never will know why Mojo died. Can dogs contract deadly diseases? Or do you believe he just died of old age? I'm just afraid that If he did have something, Bella could of caught it. She isn't acting ANY differently, im just a little concerned as I am a new owner of a Dog and NEVER had a dog before. Bella is up to date on all her shots and healthgard medication. Thanks! |
I would bring her in. They should have brought the dog in to the vet They shouldnt have just left it to die on the floor. Those dogs live 10-12 years so 7 isn't that old at all. |
I'm sure she is fine, but if you feel better you could always call the vet and they will tell you what to do. |

They could have had an autopsy done if the dog didn't have anything that was obvious to make him just up and die. |
Yeah, I would of. But it's their dog. I guess they didn't want to do it. |
Sometimes those autopsies are expensive so they may have decided against it. If the dog had just had a clean bill of health it was probably a fluke thing. If it makes you feel better then you should take your dog to the vet. |
