Hi, I like this forum also, I have learned so much. I have a Sophie also, but as you can see from my name she has a middle name Sophie "Kate". She actually will respond to Sophie, Katie, Katie Dog, Fi Fi, Cookie- I guess she just like attention. |
My new baby's name is Sophie Mae. We call her "Sooopheeah" when we want her to come to us. Also she gets Miss Sophie a lot and my husband calls her Katy Lou Two when she acts just like her sister, Katy Lou. |
Wow there sure are a lot of Sophie Yorkie's!!! It must be a popular name. I would like to take credit for naming my Sophie but she came with a name ( I added the Kate part). Actually I got her totally by accident, one of the girls who works for me bought her and had her for one week - her husband did not like the dog because it was doing it "business" in the house. Well when she showed me a picture of the dog I said "Oh how cute I will babysit anytime" little did I know two days later I would have a dog. I was suppose to babysit for one week, which I did however the original owner failed to show up to to pick her up. I finally confronted her at work and said she either had to take the puppy and make an honest effort to be a good dog owner or I would find it a new home. She chose not to take her back. Well two months later Sophie is mine, I intended to find her a good home but after about two weeks I knew she belonged here with me and my cat (cat is Avery, her best friend). I get a lot of training advice from the posts on YorkieTalk. I also have a wonderful Vet who is very patient with me and tells me exactly what I should be doing for Sophie. So far my first dog owning experience has been great, I would not trade her for the world she is a part of our family now. Next step is in December I get her spayed and we will check to make sure all her teeth are coming in properly. I am a little freaked out about the teeth, she lost about 8 so far and she actually has spit three of them at me (she is not so girly girly). |
congrat's on ownership hi it was lovely to hear how you got your furrbaby, how horrid that the first owner was so irresponsible .on the good side is that she found you. i have 2 furrbabies ,thay are both very small in comparison to the "norm" they are alot tougher that you think, it is good that she is spitting teeth at you ha! ha! my oldest pebbles is 4yrs and it cost me £120.00 to have her baby teeth taken out when she was 15 months as they would not drop out on their own.as you can tell i live in gt. brittain so i expect things are more expensive here, you'll have to let me know. sophie is just a year old and i have not seen any odd teeth lying around, i'm hoping that she spit's a few out now i know they can.:) i'll let you know. :love:to all and enjoy your baby ,they are fab .pauline |
